Otto Waalkes (born July 22, 1948 in Emden, East Frisia, Lower Saxony, Germany) is a German comedian and actor. He became famous in the 1970s and 1980s in Germany with his shows, books and movies. His perhaps most famous trademark are the 'Ottifanten' ('Ottiphants'), elephant-like comic characters of his own design. They featured on the cover of his first album release.[1]

He shares a close friendship with one of Germany's greatest female tennis players and a former worldwide tennis star Steffi Graf, who also makes an appearance in the movie Otto - Der Außerfriesische. He has one child ("Benjamin Karl Otto Grigori Waalkes") with his first wife Manuela Ebelt, and is now married to actress Eva Haßmann.

His most famous films are the 7 Zwerge films 'Männer allein im Wald' and 'Der Wald ist nicht genug', in which he played Bubi, one of the 7 dwarves. His character was dropped from a hot-air balloon as a child and as such, is particularly stupid. These films collectively grossed huge amounts of money at the German box office as the typical German humour used in the films is popular with the public.
