Dragon Ball Z the Movie: The World's Strongest, known in Japan as Dragon Ball Z: Kono yo de Ichiban Tsuyoi Yatsu (ドラゴンボールZ この世で一番強いヤツ, Doragon Bōru Zetto: Kono yo de ichiban tsuyoi yatsu, lit. "Dragon Ball Z: The World's Strongest Guy"), is the second movie in the Dragon Ball Z franchise. It was originally released in Japan on March 10, 1990, between episodes 39 and 40. It was translated in America by FUNimation Entertainment; FUNimation and Bridge Entertainment's title is The Strongest Guy in the World. In the US, the movie was first released on VHS and DVD in 1998 with the original Ocean Group voice cast and re-released on DVD on November 14, 2006 with the FUNimation voice cast, as part of a movie box set titled "First Strike", also containing movies 1 and 3.
Plot
The Movie begins when Gohan and Oolong search for the Dragon Balls that have all been gathered in the frozen Tsumisumbri Mountains, but before they reach them, Shenron is summoned by Dr. Kochin who wishes that his mentor, Dr. Wheelo, to be released from his icy prison. Gohan and Oolong are then attacked by Koshin's Biomen (Saibamen look-alikes), but are saved by Piccolo. As Gohan and Oolong escape however, Piccolo is captured by Kochin's three Bio-Warriors.
Later, Kochin's Biomen kidnap Master Roshi and Bulma, thinking that Roshi is the world's strongest and a suitable body for Dr. Wheelo, whose own body was destroyed, leaving him only as a brain. Roshi is tested by Kochin's Bio Warriors, and proves to be worthy, but is ultimately defeated. Bulma then reveals that Goku is the strongest, just as he approaches the fortress to save his friends.
Just as Goku arrives, he is attacked by the Bio Warrior, Misokattsun, who has a large rubber body. After knocking him down, Goku races inside the fortress and is attacked by large flying balls with spikes. After dodging several of them, Goku fires rapid energy blasts and destroys all of the spikes. Misokattsun then attacks again, but Goku uses the Kaioken and flies right through the Bio-Warrior, deflating him. On the higher level, Goku is attacked by Kishime and Ebifurya, and holds his own for a while, but is then shocked by Kishime's electric rods and frozen solid by Ebifurya's icy attack. Gohan and Krillin then arrive to help, but are soon shocked and frozen also. However, Goku uses the Kaioken again, freeing him from his icy prison, and he easily takes out the two Bio-Warriors.
They then arrive at Dr. Wheelo's lab where Bulma is being held, but run into Piccolo, who has been brainwashed. Goku and Piccolo then fight each other, but Gohan's anger causes the mind-controlling device on Piccolo to break. Kochin tries to shoot Krillin and Bulma with his machine gun-arm, but is beaten by Roshi. Dr. Wheelo then breaks out of the wall, revealing his brain to be inside a huge robot. Goku, Gohan, Krillin, Piccolo, and Roshi then Dr. Wheelo together, but are unable to win. Goku refuses to give up however, and he decides then to attack Dr. Wheelo with the Kaioken x3. Goku manages to Break Dr. Wheelo's Right arm off with his kaioken attack, and is about to kill Dr. Wheelo with the Kamehameha when he counters it with a blast of his own. Dr. Wheelo clearly has the advantage due to his greater strength. Right as Dr. wheelo is about to win the beam struggle Goku generates an astounding amount of energy, (Possibly from using the Kaioken x4, or just from pure anger). He overpowers Dr. Wheelo and shoots him through his laboratories ceiling, into space with the Kamehameha, and destroys the mad scientist with the Spirit Bomb, restoring peace to the Earth.
