Taito Legends 2 is a follow-up collection of 39 (or 43, see below) Taito arcade games released for the PlayStation 2, Xbox and PC in March 2006 in Europe and Australia and it was released in the U.S. on May 16, 2007. According to a Gamespot article dated April 10, 2007 the domestic port will only be for PS2: "As for the Xbox and PC editions of the game released overseas, the representative said that Destineer is not announcing domestic releases for those right now." [1]. Bonus content includes hints, cheats and tips for most games, original game flyers, and one interview with Taito. Somewhat controversially, 8 of the 43 games- Balloon Bomber, Bubble Symphony, Cadash, Rayforce, Raystorm, G Darius, Pop 'n Pop and Syvalion- were split across the platforms due to porting issues[1], requiring players to buy more than one version to get every game available.
Games
Taito Legends 2 consists of the following 43 arcade games, split across Xbox/PC and PS2 (the Xbox/PC and PS2 versions each have four exclusive games, for a total of 39 games on each):
(All platforms)
- Alpine Ski
- Arabian Magic
- Bonze Adventure (Jigoku Meguri in Japan)
- Cameltry
- Chack'n Pop
- Cleopatra Fortune
- Crazy Balloon
- Darius Gaiden
- Don Doko Don
- Dungeon Magic (Light Bringer in Japan)
- Elevator Action Returns (Elevator Action 2 in US)
- The Fairyland Story
- Football Champ (Hat Trick Hero in Japan)
- Front Line
- Gekirindan
- Grid Seeker: Project Storm Hammer
- Growl (Runark in Japan)
- Gun Frontier (arcade game)
- Insector X
- KiKi KaiKai
- Kuri Kinton
- Legend of Kage
- Liquid Kids (Mizubaku Adventure in Japan)
- Lunar Rescue
- Metal Black (video game) (Gun Frontier 2)
- Nastar Warrior (Rastan Saga 2 in Japan, Nastar in other countries)
- Puchi Carat
- Puzzle Bobble 2
- Qix
- Raimais
- Space Invaders 95 (Akkan-vaders in Japan)
- Space Invaders DX
- Super Space Invaders 91 (Majestic Twelve: The Space Invaders Part IV in Japan)
- Violence Fight
- Wild Western
(PS2 exclusives)
(Xbox/PC exclusives)
- Bubble Symphony (Bubble Bobble 2 in other countries)

- Pop'n Pop (exclusive to this collection)
- RayForce (Gunlock in other countries)
In any event, all of the games seen here were taken directly from the Japanese Taito Memories collections (The only exceptions were Bubble Symphony, and Rayforce; these games now appear on the Japanese Taito Memories 2 collections [2]; Pop 'n Pop still has yet to appear). The only games not included on this collection are the color version of Space Invaders (not to be confused with "Space Invaders Part II"), Pu-Li-Ru-La, and a baseball game called "Aa Eikou no Koshien", having been replaced by the three "exclusive" games previously mentioned.
The European PAL-based Xbox version is reported to work on the North American NTSC-based Xbox system, without any modifications [citation needed] and the European PC version works on compatible US computer systems, as there is no region locking for computer games.
Taito Legends 2 is published by Destineer in North America. There are currently no plans for the Xbox version, but the PC version was eventually released at on 2007-07-28.
