Re:Images

It's not my job to format your userpage. It's yours to follow policy, and in this case, mine to enforce it. I harbor you no ill will, I'm simply applying policy by removing the images. Whether you wish to maintain them as a list or another method is completely unknown to me, and in any case, how could I know what format you wanted them in? Unreasonable demands cannot be met. Big O episodes

I created Template:The Big O episodes. It adds any article where it's transcluded into Category:The Big O episodes.--Nohansen 23:37, 14 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

A category for the episodes would be better. Then, that category can be placed in Category:Television episodes by series.--Nohansen 23:44, 14 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I saw that. There's a procedure for moving all articles in one category. It must be requested and then a bot takes care of the rest. But I don't know how to make the request.--Nohansen 23:58, 14 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Improper speedy tagging

Hi, I just noticed that you tagged Template:Babellist and Template:BabelUser for speedy deletion improperly. They were both tagged with {{deprecated}} less than a day ago, a process which has a 14-day waiting period. I'd notified the template's original author and he was supposed to have that period of time available to him in order to respond. Please don't add speedy templates to templates marked deprecated in the future, if they really do warrant deletion they'll go away in the fullness of time and they cause no harm in the interim. I've been watching this user for some time. (I didn't want to block someone just due to "similar" editing habits.) However, there have been some edits which have clinched it for me.
Incidentally, the user need not be unblocked to discuss on this talk page. I'd rather wait, than to risk continued SOCKs. (See also User:Sox207.) - jc37 06:37, 26 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I asked Deskana (who did the last check on PatPeter) on IRC. The check came back "likely" that they are the same person (same ISP, same area). Mr.Z-man 17:41, 26 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
"However, there have been some edits which have clinched it for me." I would like to know what these are, because after going over some of my edits I have come across a couple similarities. First of all when I started editing userboxes it was off-topic for me, I just came to edit The Big O articles and upload images etc. etc. I put user en-3 on my userpage because I thought that was what level I was on, but after reading more at babel I see that I am probably just user en (the whole chain confuses be how en is inbetween en-4 and en-5) but then I got in a discussion with Tasco about color schemes and how the userboxes seem to follow the visible spectrum blue indigo green yellow red, except three is blue instead of green, which doesn't make much sense, and also the userbox was created in '05 by an inactive user. After this i began to look at other level three templates, some of which I found to be green, and some of which looked absolutely horrible. A lot of the templates didn't have Template:Languages so I started adding that, then I came across Category:User templates en and i noticed two types of categorization. You Jc37 put "Userpage userboxes" in usersubpage categories to sort them with the rest of their kind and keep them away from templates. PatPeter on the other hand does "Userpage user templates" both of which are pretty long, so I just cut off both second and third words for just "userpage," I did this following your lead jc37. After that I started standardizing other templates, like the en-sco I got a barnstar for. I noticed that all the en-sco were at the top of the User templates en list and obviously didn't think the belonged there, they belong with the rest of the templates, so I took the space out.
So yeah it's funny how our minds work, how I jumped from one topic to another. Sorry for any bad grammar and spelling, as I said I don't know where I would be on the Babel list, but I came here to edit The Big O and any other anime I come across that I can help, just want to help the project. -The Big X 20:24, 26 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I'll tell you honestly that I don't quite understand what you're saying here, but it doesn't seem to be true?:
  • "You Jc37 put "Userpage userboxes" in usersubpage categories to sort them with the rest of their kind and keep them away from templates. PatPeter on the other hand does "Userpage user templates" both of which are pretty long, so I just cut off both second and third words for just "userpage," I did this following your lead jc37."
Second, your surprising intimate knowledge of template syntax was only one reason I started looking into your contributions. It's not just your edits, or even just where your edits were, but what your edits were.
And all I have to do is read over User_talk:Sox207#unblock_req._reviewed, to see that we're at least dealing with meat puppetry here, if not direct sock puppetry. (Though I still think it's SOCK puppetry from the edits involved, more than one user "could" be using this account, which would also be problematic.)
While I'm tempted to ask to have a discussion with PatPeter to discuss a tentative return to Wikipedia (lifting the block), what we've seen so far doesn't inspire confidence, and the events leading up to the final block really suggest that this is user drama that we just don't need. - jc37 22:50, 26 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

What is the difference between meat puppetry and sock puppetry? I wasn't lying when I said Sox207 was my friends account, but I was using it. This account was another attempt to help the project.

Yes I made a sock puppet and used another user's account but only because I was getting close to no friction on User talk:PatPeter, lets talk more there. -The Big X 04:22, 27 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Presuming you meant "traction" instead of "friction".
Just a question: Can you explain saying:
  • "I don't know who User:PatPeter is and would like to discuss here how I have been mistaken for him."
in light of what you just said above. - jc37 08:44, 27 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Yes I meant traction, thank you, having trouble finding my words lately
I just sort of gave up hope as editing as PatPeter again and was afraid that I wouldn't be allowed to edit (demon^ made that phony post, or as fastlizard said, that another unblock request would get the page protected, where there would be no chance of coming back), so I made The Big X, I didn't think there was a possibility for my unblock, I made multiple multi-posts, no one replied. I am sorry I lied, all I want is to help the project. My last reason for block (as PatPeter, not sockpuppets) was for "soapboxing," in which I was trying to create a politically correct userbox saying "This user does not support the LGBT community." I made some mistakes on some userboxes, like when Template:User queersupport, or what ever the title was (I changed it on Sox or Big X), I just put a "no" on that and moved it to my usersubspace, now obviously if I knew it was an incorrect term to use I wouldn't have used it, but it was used on the main template for people to state this opinion. Other users say that the userbox would offend a group of people, well let's look at pro-choice and pro-life, a pro-life person still finds pro-choice offensive and vice versa. People who are pro-gay, I would bet to say that some of them would find me offensive, hell in a flame email by User:Dev920 she said "Oh, and your homophobia is disgusting." I don't vandalize the homosexuality page or post the userbox on talk:main page, telling everyone my opinions, which is what real soapboxing is. All I am trying to do is everything other users do, make a userbox. -The Big X 03:42, 28 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:The Fraziers.png

Thanks for uploading Image:The Fraziers.png. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 20:41, 26 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
