Secrets and Guys is an episode of The WB drama series, Charmed.

Synopsis

Max, a 13-year-old boy is kidnapped from his father. Prue receives a cryptic plea for help through a Ouija board, "HELP MAX." She and Phoebe spring into action to save Max, a witch who has been kidnapped by a pair of vicious thugs aiming to make use of Max's powers to aid in the commission of a bank robbery. Meanwhile, Piper gets distracted from her troubles at work by the unexpected return of her lover Leo, but when Phoebe accidentally stumbles across the true reason Leo has come back, she begs him to tell Piper the surprising truth.

• Max Franklin: Max Franklin is a young witch who inherited psychokinetic powers from his mother. Unfortunately, she died when he was very young and had therefore not been able to prepare him to deal with his power. Max is later kidnapped by a friend's brother, in order for him to break into a bank, and his father is too terrified to say anything to the police. However, Max manages to send a distress signal to Prue (with the help of Leo Wyatt), who comes to his aid.

• The episode title is a play on words to the 1996 movie Secrets & Lies.
• We learn in this episode that Leo is a Whitelighter.
• This is the first episode where we can see there are male witches.
• In this episode, Leo refers to his superiors as The Founders, but in later episodes, they are referred to as The Elders. For this matter, they are known as Founders through the whole series in its French version. He, however, refers to them as Elder Whitelighters.
• In this episode, there are certain points of contention about the role and powers of Whitelighters. For example, Leo tries to sense Prue but to no avail; however, in future episodes, Leo is able to sense his charges unless they're magically shielded or in the Underworld but he does say that it takes time for the bond to truly form between a Whitelighter and their charge.
• Leo says that witches aren't supposed to know about their Whitelighters but in future episodes it's clear a lot of witches do know, for example, the witch with the power of deflection in Blinded by the Whitelighter knew about Natalie, her Whitelighter, and Paige Matthews introduces herself to many of her charges in later episodes. Also, the sister's mother (Patty) knew about her whitelighter, Sam, who fathered a child by her. Later episodes also show show that the Patty's husband also knew about her whitelighter. The concept that Whitelighters are supposed to be kept secret from there charges seems to have been dropped. Later episodes even imply that Whitelighters have certain responsibilities toward there charges that would necessitate full discloser.
• Max informs Prue that his power, psychokinesis, is the ability to move objects that the witch cannot see, unlike Prue's power of telekinesis in which she moves objects she can see. This is in contradiction to the modern classification in science fiction and paranormal research that telekinesis and psychokinesis are the same power.
• Brad Tatum, who played Mickey Jackson is married to Stacy Haiduk, who played the Guardian of the Urn in Feats of Clay three episodes before.
