Keep an eye on the Led Zeppelin article. It keeps being hit by a 74.X IP who keeps deleting the sales citaion without a valid reason. He's been doing the same to Pink Floyd, Deep Purple and The Who pages. It is an IP sock for a account [[User:CHawke|CHawke]] (although he's been trying to hide it by talking to himself on the 2 different talk pages... but edit histories/summary wordings don't lie) He's gone 3RR numerous times and has been blocked in the past so he is an editor who stays determined in his edit war. The Zep WikiProject

Great idea creating the Wikiproject; it really irked me for so long that Wikipedia didn't didn't have one decent Led Zeppelin article. Anyway, since these are the early stages of the project I think it is important that we get the organisation of the project sorted out. For one thing we can model the project page on Wikipedia:WikiProject The Smashing Pumpkins or Wikipedia:WikiProject Red Hot Chili Peppers. Please let me know if you have other plans as well. Indopug (talk) 14:36, 25 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The reason I removed from the FAC list is that they aren't FACs at all; they're former FACs. Also,Featured article candidate is used exclusively for FAs, while is used for former FACs. Anyway, i really don't see the point of listing them at all because they are nowhere near the quality we should be aiming for once this project gets underway.
As for "cloning" ourselves on them, the primary reason I recommend it is that right now we are drowning in categories, templates, to-do lists and logs. I mean do we really need category: band members? There are four members! And pages like lists for deletion sorting, red links and missing articles! Its like piling more and more bureaucracy upon ourselves.
What do you think of the new LZ template on the project talk page? I say we implement it cause its more compact; maintaining a to-do list for each article would be really cumbersome anyway.

I didn't think acclaim for different songs should be in the main article. Also, we should get the old pic back for the infobox; the new one doesn't show john bonham, hence that qualifies fair-use. Indopug (talk) 05:35, 27 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi MegX. I have decided not to use email for wikipedia, but if there is something you would like to discuss you are more than welcome to post is on my discussion page. Cheers. Edelmand (talk) 01:51, 1 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Zep pic

As per wiki policy, fair-use/non-free images are supposed to be used at a minimum, only when absolutely necessary, because Wikipedia is a free encyclopedia. Hence, the current pic I uploaded cannot be used for the band's template; neither can any other fair-use image of LZ. Indopug (talk) 08:44, 1 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

New Template:WP Led Zeppelin. The pic is reminiscent of the debut album and the source of the band's name. The new template is way simpler and less grotesque looking than the previous one. Indopug (talk) 11:15, 1 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Feel free to change the ratings if you think its inaccurate. I assisgned those ratings in a hurry and rather arbitrarily.Indopug (talk) 08:56, 3 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Meg - you restored this to the Roscommon list so I assume you know something about it? Can't find it on a map, where is it? Sarah777 (talk) 03:40, 6 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Jimmy Page

If you believe what you are saying is true, why don't you mention that on the Bowie article? My point is you seem to be singling out Page, when there are far more worse examples of Nazi behaviour from other artists such as Ian Curtis and Siouxsie Sioux. Page never wrote anti-semitic/pro-Nazi songs like those artists. MegX (talk) 23:27, 27 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The pedophilia with Lori Maddox should be mentioned in the Bowie article. Are you saying that sex with a 13 year old is relevant to the Bowie article but sex with a 14 year old is not relevant to the Page article? What about the mention of Page's Nazi costume? You seem to be saying that it is o.k. for people to dress like Nazis, so long as they don't give Nazi salutes to Germans or write Nazi lyrics. Is that what you are saying? My point about Page is that his Nazi costume fits with his interest in the occult.Pistolpierre (talk) 01:38, 28 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Led Zeppelin poster picture 1969 tour

Hello MegX,

Great job to all regarding the Led Zeppelin 1969 tour! The Santa Barbara concert poster shown on the page is my artwork. I have the original black & white drawing in my living room. It is a privilege to have it shown on Wikipedia.

Although it is under my copyright, you are free to use the image. I am new to Wikipedia and do not know the proper protocol and/or way to edit/alter articles, nor give permission to use a copyrighted image.

If possible, I would like to have poster art credit under the image. Basically: Poster by Frank Bettencourt or Poster art by Frank Bettencourt. There is plenty of room in the template, under the existing text. That seems only fair. All artist's names should be listed when their art work is used. It is a small addendum, but a fair addendum.

If you wish further verification of my 40+ years in art, as well as other early rock posters, my website is frankbettencourt.com .

This email can be deleted from discussion. It was the only way I found to leave a message with yourself or Wikipedia. Thanks again to all that make this unique encyclopedia work. The work done is excellent, in all fields.

Best regards,

Frank Bettencourt FGB555 (talk) 22:01, 28 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
