Good morning Mr William Thompson. I just wanted to say hello. I may or may not have the chance to ruin you tonight, but we will see. Maybe we could be friends, but probably not. You want to help people. Welcoming comittee, vandal changes etc. I want to hurt people. But maybe the polar opposites in us should get together. We could be unstoppable.[[User:Tom.mevlie|Tom.mevlie]] ([[User talk:Tom.mevlie|talk]]) 09:14, 25 March 2008 (UTC)

Adoption

I'd be glad to adopt. Place {{adoptee|Bovlb}} on your user page. Do you have anything you want to share about what brought you to Wikipedia and your experiences so far? Bovlb (talk) 05:27, 22 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Re:Your comments on my talk page

Hey, sorry if I have offended you in any way. Howa00820 explained the situation to me, and I simply pointed him in the direction of someone who would be in a better position to deal with the matter- I don't want you to think I believe you a sockpuppet just because Howa says you are. I have effectively stepped back from the matter now- better people to contact would be Howa and (I see you already have here) Rlevse. J Milburn (talk) 09:27, 22 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Elections

I don't know what you're referring to. I'm already running for a coordinator's position and I'm not sure what question you mean. You asked all three of us the same question; I've already answered. María (habla conmigo) 13:40, 22 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Funny how you are so keen to get involved in this election but you've supposedly only been on Wikipedia for a day. In fact, you professed on your userpage to not even understand the role of the "History" tab. If you are truly that green (and creating articles like Ticket to Ride (book) which sorely need further attention) perhaps you should wait until you get your sea legs before becoming heavily involved in a WikiProject. María (habla conmigo) 01:59, 23 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
If someone does not know the difference between a novel and a non-fiction book, or how to properly research and provide reliable references for a new article, how can they expect to provide helpful outreach to members of the Novels WikiProject? What I'm saying is that perhaps you should not take an active role in the project until you garner some knowledge and experience. Unless, of course, this isn't your first foray into Wikipedia inner workings and you just made a simple mistake and/or were short on time. Correct me if I have the wrong end of the stick. Sockiness

The reason I didn't want to let you know of my suspicion is the same reason police gather damning evidence before making arrests. It's unfair and insulting to the suspic-ed party to just get his ass handed to him without anything more than a how-fare-thee. I wanted to have some checking done first, as a kind of due process or what have you, before I made up my mind. And as for what Danger did, you can read it for yourself in the page histories of the Novels election, or just peruse his contributions page. Howa0082 (talk) 14:06, 22 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Adoptions

Actually, I am no longer doing adoptions, sorry. However, as to finding vandalism, one good place to start is my patrolling Special:RecentChanges. Since lots of vandalism comes from IPs, you can "hide logged-in users" and check the differences in versions for IP edits. To make your life easier, I suggest using Popups, a javascript program which allows for rapid reversion of bad edits. For warning vandals automatically, Twinkle is a good tool as well. Remember to report consistent and warned vandals to WP:AIV and admins will take care of them. If you have questions, drop me a line. Signpost

Sorry, I can't. I don't publish requests like that because if I did, there would inevitably be numerous such notices for almost all active WikiProjects, and that would outweigh the usefulness of such notices. Ral315 (talk) 05:09, 24 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I don't know of any such pages, though you can certainly ask others. I would suggest putting the banner, and/or this banner at the top of your userpage; that, combined with the notices on novel-related article talk pages, are the best ways I know of for recruiting users to WikiProjects. Ral315 (talk) 05:23, 24 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I believe Template:Announcements/Community_bulletin_board may be appropriate. Daniel (talk) 05:24, 24 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
