African American Definition

Do you have a source for that very specific definition of African American? I agree with you that if someone was born in the Caribbean, he is not African American; however, if his children are born here, they would be classified as African American. My sister-in-law is from the Bahamas and would not be called African American (actually, she calls herself colored), but my nephews are considered African American. Also, by your definition, Barack Obama would not be African American. Sources: Random House dictionary: a black American of African descent American Heritage dictionary: A Black American of African ancestry Kman543210 (talk) 23:42, 8 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The threshold for inclusion in Wikipedia is verifiability, not truth.
If you would like to change the definition, please make sure your definition has the authority of verifiable reliable sources. The current definition does. Your version did not.
No matter how deeply-held your opinion is that you have The Truth, without verifiable reliable sources your definition will be removed in favor of a definition that satisfies Wikipedia's policies. — Malik Shabazz (talk · contribs) 01:23, 9 June 2008 (UTC)

Editing other people's work

Could you not edit a circuit map when the circuit map is fine and okay? It doesn't matter if it's png or svg or whatever. If it's accurate, leave it alone. How would you feel if somebody deleted your work for no reason? Fclass (talk) 05:48, 10 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Which image are you complaining about now? I told you how the Bugatti Circuit image was out of date. Also, you should read Images that should be in SVG format. Will (Talk - contribs) 06:44, 10 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Circuit Gilles Villeneuve. The other map was correct. You didn't need to delete it. What's the status on Waterford Hills Road Racing Track? Forget Scandinavian Raceway. It's restored. And please don't erase it. It's perfect. User:Fclass Fclass ([User talk:Fclass|talk]]) 06:38, 10 June 2008 (UTC-5)

Waterford Hills is done. As for the others, you must not have read the link I gave you. Also, two more: ShouldBeSVG and Commons:Media for cleanup. I don't consider the Scandinavian Raceway image perfect. Not only was I forced to add ShouldBeSVG, but it doesn't show Pit Lane. However, while I do have a SVG mostly done, because I don't know where pit lane is, I can't procede. Note: What I see in [the official track map] hints that pit lane isn't at the start/finish line. Rather, it is between turns 5 & 6. Don't ask me why. Will (Talk - contribs) 05:18, 11 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Personal Attacks

Hi Fclass. It's obvious that you're pissed. First of all don't assume my race. Second

 • There is consistent evidence that there is a high mixture of Native American and African American
 • Third the one-drop rule is largely the reason why people of African American descent don't have any pride nor acknowledge their full ancestry because they feel it is unimportant.
 • Movements like the Black Power Movement also played a role in creating ignorance, by putting pressure on people who were part African American to only claim that group. It has also help created ignorance.
 • People have been calling people with color black for so long they don't even realize alot of physical features are Native American or even Caucasin.
 • Yes it is true that slave owners rapped women and that is part of the reason there are light-skinned people who call themselves African Americans. Hence since they have white ancestry African American is only a part of who they are. African blood doesn't over rule other bloodlines and vice versa.
 • Native-African American relations have been going on since the Africans were brought to the new world. There was no delay. Matter of fact the first incident of slaves getting free and being taken in by Native Americans was 1526. There were possibly even earlier incidents of that occuring. By 1835 10% of Cherokee had African American descent. It's 2008 what do u think it is now? Hence that was just the Cherokee tribe the Seminoles and other eastern tribes were taking in slaves too.
 • Sorry that you feel that I don't deserve any help. Getting more information on the subject since you obviously don't like the link between the two races.

I hope you cool down and don't launch anymore personal attacks on me.Mcelite (talk) 17:48, 14 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Fclass, this is the third time in the past 10 days that somebody has warned you about personal attacks. The next time, I will bring your behavior to the attention of administrators at WP:ANI. Please refrain from personal attacks. Thank you. — Malik Shabazz (talk · contribs) 21:15, 14 June 2008 (UTC)

Yes I have actually seen it on PBS. I find it very interesting. My question to you is since you said that you have both Native American and Caucasin descent do you acknowledge them or are they just pieces of you that don't matter? Mcelite (talk) 02:18, 15 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You assume too much. First of all I don't have a problem with people being proud of their heritage. A person should have as much pride in their African ancestry as anything else that runs through their veins. Also Africans were not the only ones that survived slavery in the U.S. if you know your history the original slaves were Native Americans. There are even records of natives being kidnapped and forced into slavery in the early 1800s. So you understand I don't disregard people's African heritage nor consider it minor. In fact people consider a person with African heritage that has another mixture as well their African heritage to be the dominant race which isn't true. A person should be able to proudly claim everything that they are and not be bullied into only associating with one group. Many people have gone through hell for speaking up and showing pride in their full heritage James Earl Jones, Chilli, Halle Berry, and many others. As a society t.v. has actually help us classify people and call them something if they are not of that bloodline. You say you're light-skinned well it's obvious you have other heritage besides African but will you speak up for yourself if someone asked you about it or would you say I'm black and that's all that matters?Mcelite (talk) 01:30, 18 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

That's really ignorant. First of all if they are bold enough to mention the truth about who they are fully then it should be mentioned not ignored. It's wrong to put down just part of who they are when they mention who they are descended of. I feel sorry for you that you just can't see what I'm trying to say. A person should be able to proudly claim EVERYTHING they are. Also if you want to add African American to LisaRaye's artilce FIND A SOURCE. I don't have a problem with heritage being added but don't assume it. Did you know there are people that are Native American and Caucasian and they look like her? However, because of her complextion which is common amond Native Americans people will call someone that looks like her black when they have no African blood. You should look into the history of your other ancestors as well since you said you have more than African ancestry. You should take pride in everything.Mcelite (talk) 01:52, 18 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

no personal attacks

Hi. Please don't make personal attacks like you did in this edit. Thanks. Gwen Gale (talk) 02:52, 18 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

archiving a talk page

Here's a page which can help you with archiving. Note, the talkarchive template goes on archive pages, not this talk page. Cheers, Gwen Gale (talk) 02:55, 18 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Personal attacks

Hello, Fclass. This message is being sent to inform you that there currently is a discussion at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents regarding an issue with which you may have been involved. Yours, — Malik Shabazz (talk · contribs) 03:07, 18 June 2008 (UTC)

Hey

Fclass, saw your userpage - great to see that you're a fan of road racing, and Grand-Am in particular. I used to work for last year's championship-winning team, GAINSCO/Bob Stallings Racing. Dropping you this note to say that it would be a shame to see you get blocked over something trivial... I'd really recommend that you work to tone down the rhetoric and engage other users in a more civil fashion. Disagreement is great - personal attacks aren't. FCYTravis (talk) 05:18, 18 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Archiving

You have almost everything set up. It just depends on how you want to do it. You have two options:

 1. If you want your talk page's history in the archive, you just have to click on "move" at the top and move it to User talk:Fclass/Archive 1
 2. If you don't really care about the history, just copy and paste your talk page to the same place.

Just make sure that you add Talkarchive to the top and bottom of the archive page. --pbroks13talk? 05:52, 18 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hello! I archived threads more than a week old, I hope that was what you wanted. I think the problem you were having with archiving was that there was a redirect at User talk:Fclass/Archive 1 that was pointing back here to User talk:Fclass, that was probably confusing you. The redirect is gone now, so you should hopefully be able to see how to archive now without any trouble? Just cut-and-paste threads no longer in use to the archive page. If there's anything you're still unclear about, please let me know (but I don't make a habit of doing other people's archive jobs so you will have to settle for me showing you how ;-)) Hope that helps! --tiny plastic Grey Knight 14:05, 18 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
(addendum) I left your "Welcome" notice in place as most people do that when archiving. It has a lot of useful links. --tiny plastic Grey Knight 15:27, 18 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on LisaRaye McCoy. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions on a single page within a 24 hour period. Additionally, users who perform a large number of reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring, even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing. Please do not repeatedly revert edits, but use the talk page to work towards wording and content that gains a consensus among editors. If necessary, pursue dispute resolution. — Malik Shabazz (talk · contribs) 19:33, 18 June 2008 (UTC)

blocked

I have blocked you for a short while for edit warring over ethnicity issues at LisaRaye McCoy, along with a lack of edit summaries, ongoing worries about civility and lack of discussion. Gwen Gale (talk) 20:03, 18 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You have been blocked from editing for a period of 24 hours in accordance with Wikipedia's blocking policy for edit warring. How come you didn't block Mcelite? That person is a vandal messing up articles with his or her agenda. Fclass (talk) 20:23, 18 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Mcelite mistook your edits for vandalism and has been warned for breaking 3rr. Gwen Gale (talk) 20:42, 18 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Fclass, please edit constructively and in a civil manner. Rude insult don't help at all. GG blocked you for edit warring and that's the only reason I didn't block you for gross incivility--you were already blocked. RlevseTalk 02:13, 19 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Given this was your first edit after coming off your block, I have now blocked you for a week. Gwen Gale (talk) 21:55, 19 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You have been blocked from editing for a period of 1 week in accordance with Wikipedia's blocking policy for personal attack, harassment as first edit after block. Your Agenda??

If you have payed attention to my edits. I've never removed someone's ethnicity if it is cited. I have no issues with anyone's heritage. Unlike you in which you removed people's heritage like you did with Keke Wyatt and others when the information is cited. I'm against assumptions being made with no citation what so ever. Sorry if you feel that I'm against a person's African American because you remove anything else but that. In addition, no more personal attacks please.Mcelite (talk) 22:17, 19 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I still don't understand why Mcelite isn't blocked. That person has a racist agenda. And can you please unblock me? Fclass (talk) 20:39, 20 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Why do you say that user has a racist agenda? Gwen Gale (talk) 01:06, 21 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

That user adds other stuff to an article when that stuff is not true. Look, can you just unblock me? Fclass (talk) 14:12, 21 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Come on, man, unblock me. Fclass (talk) 14:22, 21 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Your request to be unblocked has been granted for the following reason(s):

You've promised not to make personal attacks

Request handled by: Gwen Gale (talk) 15:24, 21 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I had unblocked you because you promised not to make any more personal attacks, but instead you have carried on attacking and harassing the same user. Hence, I have now blocked you indefinitely. Gwen Gale (talk) 22:28, 23 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You have been blocked indefinitely from editing in accordance with Wikipedia's blocking policy for ongoing personal attacks and harassment after asking for lifting of one week block and promising to stop. If you believe this block is unjustified you may contest this block by adding the text your reason here below. Gwen Gale (talk) 22:37, 23 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, I get the message. I apologize for the attack. I promise I won't do it again. Cross my heart and hope to die. I'll engage Mcelite in a civil and respectable manner from now. Fclass (talk) 22:45, 23 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I don't believe you. Gwen Gale (talk) 22:46, 23 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

What will it take for you, Gwen Gale, to believe me? Fclass (talk) 22:50, 23 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

All I know is, you haven't said it yet. To have another admin review this block, paste... your reason here ...below, (replacing "your reason here" with whatever you would like to say). Gwen Gale (talk) 23:03, 23 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the unblock template again. I have posted the unblock template for you. An admin will likely review your block soon. Gwen Gale (talk) 23:57, 23 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Please unblock me!!! Please!!! Fclass (talk) 01:05, 24 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

In the context of your recent conduct, my advice is that you should wait at least a week, probably longer, before making another unblock request. PhilKnight (talk) 01:09, 24 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Please unblock me. Come on, man, unblock me. I apologize for attacking Mcelite. Unblock me, please. Fclass (talk) 15:43, 24 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Can somebody please unblock me? I am truly, deeply sorry for attacking Mcelite. Give me another chance, please. (added by Fclass to the unblock template 19:22, 24 June) moved here by Gwen Gale (talk) 19:28, 24 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Are you going to unblock me? Fclass (talk) 19:33, 24 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

No, I'm not. I suggest you give up trying to get unblocked immediately, and accept that you have been blocked. At the moment your conduct isn't helping. Have a look at the discussion here. If you continue in this manner, the page could be protected. PhilKnight (talk) 19:53, 24 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

What will it take for me to get unblocked? Fclass (talk) 21:28, 25 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I have no position to do anything or make pronouncements — I only have your talkpage on my watchlist after helping with the archive before — but it seems like you should follow User:PhilKnight's advice and wait a week. Take some time to think about things and see if there are any changes you can make to help stop getting into such problems in the future. That is probably your best hope. After a week, try writing on this page. Hope it works out for you. --tiny plastic Grey Knight 21:44, 25 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
