Hi,
just remind you to complete the questionnaire.

My thesis's oral defense is on next Wednesday. So please complete it as early as you can. I believe it would just take you 5 miniutes. Thanks a lot. :)

Revision as of 08:14, 7 July 2008

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Wes Montgomery Guitar on the Go.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. After Midnight 0001 00:19, 23 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I am pushing for completed citations and general cleanup, per WP:UNI, in an effort to promote University of Kentucky to GA status. It's mostly completed, with proper citations throughout and only one or two citations needed, but your assistance or input is requested. It won't take much to push this up, and with a little bit of elbow grease, it should be no sweat! Thanks, Seicer (talk) (contribs) 06:00, 3 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Uk logo.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Uk logo.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 02:23, 12 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Leo J. Meyer

Please have a look at the DRV for Leo J. Meyer (currently seen at User:Meyerj) located at Wikipedia:Deletion review/Log/2008 March 3. Its my opinion that the article met the standards for verifiability and notability. I would appreciate your input into the matter. MrPrada (talk) 18:24, 3 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Starting up Lewis Nixon (Naval Architect) page.

Thanks go out to [Rogerd] for remaing sincere and unbiased in your editing on Wikipedia... especially in regards to Naval matters - while keeping these stories fair and balanced and without bias in this pollitically corrected day and age - where the truth and the facts can sometimes end up being offensive to those "who are". I to am a great appreciator of "classic" rock music, but I tend to like stuff that has a little more "power" such as Lynyrd Skynyrd, Rush, Stone Temple Pilots, and on and on as there are littorally millions of great songs out there. I will tell you that Lewis Nixon was a good friend (and confidant) to my great-grandfather, Arthur L. Busch (1866-1956). —Preceding unsigned comment added by 1866.UL (talkcontribs) 16:08, 10 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Looking for Wikipedians for a User Study

Hello. I am a graduate student in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the University of Minnesota. We are conducting research on ways to engage content experts on Wikipedia. Previously, Wikipedia started the Adopt-a-User program to allow new users to get to know seasoned Wikipedia editors. We are interested in learning more about how this type of relationship works. Based on your editing record on Wikipedia, we thought you might be interested in participating. If chosen to participate, you will be compensated for your time. We estimate that most participants will spend an hour (over two weeks on your own time and from your own computer) on the study. To learn more or to sign up contact KATPA at CS dot UMN dot EDU or User:KatherinePanciera/WPMentoring. Thanks. KatherinePanciera (talk) 02:13, 2 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Just checking

Hi Rogerd,

Did you ever see my (very delayed) follow-up comments on the Exhausted Rooster ceremony and if so were you able to confirm with other JC senators as I suggested? I understand that your State apparently didn't used this ceremnoy but I would be curious to know how far the loss of our rich and colorful history has spread. I so wish there was a focused effort to record all of these bits while older ex-members are still alive to tell the tales.

PS: While you are at it, you might ask the senators if anyone remembers the ceremony of "Peter The Great" too <grin>. -- Low Sea (talk) 00:10, 20 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

From V0taire

I apologize, I am very new to Wikipedia as you can tell. I work with Joe Esposito who as you know was an essential part of Elvis' life for over 17 years. I simply wanted to create a page for him like Jerry Schilling or Lamar Fike who were also members of the Memphis Mafia. You can rest assured that my posts will be limited to Joe Esposito from now on.

I have included additional items on Joe Esposito's page that should merit his inclusion into Wikipedia. Feel free to contact me. V0taire (talk) 17:07, 28 May 2008 (UTC)Sincerely, V0taire.[reply]

could you please do me a favor?

Hello,

I am a master student at the Institute of Technology Management, National Tsing Hua University, Taiwan. Currently I am wrapping up my master thesis titled “Can Wikipedia be used for knowledge service?” In order to validate the knowledge evolution maps of identified users in Wikipedia, I need your help. I have generated a knowledge evolution map to denote your knowledge activities in Wikipedia according to your inputs including the creation and modification of contents in Wikipedia, and I need you to validate whether the generated knowledge evolution map matches the knowledge that you perceive you own it. Could you please do me a favor?

  1. I will send you a URL link to a webpage on which your knowledge evolution map displays. Please assign the topic (concept) in the map to a certain cluster on the map according to the relationship between the topic and clusters in your cognition, or you can assign it to ‘none of above’ if there is no suitable cluster.
  2. I will also send a questionnaire to you. The questions are related to my research topic, and I need your viewpoints about these questions.

The deadline of my thesis defense is set by the end of June, 2008. There is no much time left for me to wrap up the thesis. If you can help me, please reply this message. I will send you the URL link of the first part once I receive your response. The completion of my thesis heavily relies much on your generous help.

Sincerely

JnWtalk 07:38, 5 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Sure, I will help. --rogerd (talk) 11:11, 5 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
