Which parts do you think are plagiarized, and from what source?--Pharos 18:32, 16 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

compare this to the 1911 article on the ainu people in the encyclopedia britannica. it's almost word for word.

The 1911 Encyclopædia Britannica has passed into the public domain; anyone can use its words for any purpose.--Pharos 18:40, 16 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Encyclopedia articles dont pass into public domain since they are amended each year with just minor changes. Therefore, they are essentially 'living' documents and can only pass into public domain if they are SUBSTANTIALLY different from current incarnations of the article, which this is is not. Furthermore, it is in rather bad taste to not credit article to its rightful owner at all, even if it were public domain, which it is assuredly not.Musachachado 18:44, 16 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

The 1911 edition is public domain (please read the article about it). Anything published before 1923 is public domain in the U.S., where Wikipedia's servers are based. The 1911 EB is credited at the bottom of the page. --Pharos 18:48, 16 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

No its not credited! A reference is just made to it with no explanation. Having a link to "1911 Encyclopedia Britannica" is NOT credit!! Plus, international copyright treaties apply to internet publication...I should know, I work on that for a living. What you are propounding is a crime, a tort, and a moral wrong!!Musachachado 18:52, 16 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

You are right about giving the 1911 EB proper credit as the source, which I have just done. You are completely wrong, however, about the copyright status of the 1911 EB; where are reading the 1911 text from? There are many full copies of the 1911 EB on the internet just because it is public domain.--Pharos 19:01, 16 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Vandalism

What you are doing is considered vandalism. You should confine discussions about the merits of this article to its talk page, not start a war. Edit in good faith, please. If you continue, we will have no choice but to list you on vandalism in progress. -CasitoTalk 19:21, 16 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

Please unblock me, I know I did wrong back three years ago but swear I will vandalize no more.

Decline reason:

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

This user is asking that their block be reviewed:

Musachachado (block logactive blocksglobal blockscontribsdeleted contribsfilter logcreation logchange block settingsunblockcheckuser (log))

Request reason:

Who is wiki brah? Can I be unblocked?

Notes:

  • In some cases, you may not in fact be blocked, or your block has already expired. Please check the list of active blocks. If no block is listed, then you have been autoblocked by the automated anti-vandalism systems. Please remove this request and follow these instructions instead for quick attention by an administrator.
  • Please read our guide to appealing blocks to make sure that your unblock request will help your case. You may change your request at any time.
Administrator use only:

If you ask the blocking administrator to comment on this request, replace this template with the following, replacing "blocking administrator" with the name of the blocking admin:

{{Unblock on hold |1=blocking administrator |2=Who is wiki brah? Can I be unblocked? |3 = ~~~~}}

If you decline the unblock request, replace this template with the following code, substituting {{subst:Decline reason here}} with a specific rationale. Leaving the decline reason unchanged will result in display of a default reason, explaining why the request was declined.

{{unblock reviewed |1=Who is wiki brah? Can I be unblocked? |decline = {{subst:Decline reason here}} ~~~~}}

If you accept the unblock request, replace this template with the following, substituting Accept reason here with your rationale:

{{unblock reviewed |1=Who is wiki brah? Can I be unblocked? |accept = accept reason here ~~~~}}
