Allu Arjun (Telugu:అల్లు అర్జున్), born April 8 1983 in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, is a Telugu film actor. He is the son of producer Allu Aravind, grandson of the comedian Padmashree Allu Ramalingaiah, and nephew of the famous Telugu actor "Megastar" Chiranjeevi. He is also the cousin of Ram Charan Teja. He has two brothers elder Bobby Allu and younger Sirish Allu.

Allu Arjun debuted as a special appearance in the movie Daddy, which was produced by his father.

Career

Allu Arjun, also known as Bunny, has a huge youth following in Andhra Pradesh. His first film as a leading man, Gangotri, was directed by veteran director K. Raghavendra Rao, was a average film. It was K. Raghavendra Rao's 100th film.[1]. Allu Arjun's second film Arya was a 2004 blockbuster and got huge collections.[2] It was Arjun's first major hit. His third film was Bunny, His fourth film, Happy, had a different story.[3] The films got decent profits .[4]

In 2007, his next release with Puri Jagannadh, Desamuduru, proved to be a big hit at the box office[5] and the first hit of the year in Tollywood.[6]. He was acclaimed for his newly toned body with six pack abs, for which he reportedly trained for 3 hours a day for more than 6 months. His next movie, Parugu, was released on May 1.2008. The film had ticket sales of Rs.10.82 crores in its first 9 days of theatrical run and collected 21 crores in 3 weeks despite mixed reviews but the film disappointed the industry and the fans with its poor script. [7] All his films, except Gangotri were dubbed to malayalam. It is for the first time that all films of a young star from Telugu coming to Kerala in malayalam, and becoming super hits. Now he has fans associations all around Kerala. His films Arya, Bunny, Happy, Desamudru (Hero in malayalam), Parugu (Krishna in malayalam) evoked very good response in Kerala. Krishna (parugu) was released on August 8, 2008 and running succesfully all around the state.
