== Cristiano Ronaldo ==

Hi, can I ask why you removed the Football Talent Spotter link from Ronaldo's external links section? I feel, as a true football fan, that this information is extremely interesting to fans of the player and his club. Would you reconsider reinstating the link as I really do think the content supplied is extremely useful and will benefit a number of football fans. [[User:Football nut|Football Nut]]

Re: difference of opinion on Ray Gravell edits

I was under the impression that the contents of the interview would be of biographical interest to people reading the article, especially with regard to his career and background. I'm new to Wikipedia, so by all means please point out where I may be infringing a guideline, but I don't think the word "immaterial" can be fairly applied. The interviewer is David Parry-Jones, the author of "The Rugby Clubs of Wales" (Ref. 1), and the interview corroborates several of the biographical details in the article.

Redshoesproductions (talk) 10:12, 24 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the heads-up, I'll be more than happy to make a few factual additions to the article. As far as self-promotion goes; in the spirit of disclosure: the interview was conducted by David Parry-Jones on behalf of the Wales Video Gallery before my company was in any way involved in the charity. I immediately saw the potential of Wikipedia to make this information freely available to any and all interested parties. As far as I was aware, the interview was as material as, for example, the photo at sporting heroes and didn't require any textual content to be inserted to the article to justify making it available. I didn't think there would be anything unethical about linking to it, as I was simply providing free access to the material in line with the Deed of Trust of the charity.

Redshoesproductions (talk) 13:28, 24 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for that. In future, I'm going to follow Shudde's suggestion and mention the link in the article's talk page, leave it to someone uninvolved to add to the article.

RE:Template:Welsh Premier League seasons

Sorry if you were wondering what was going on. I had problems with the templates and had to rename one as two templates were just duplicating themselves. I have ameded this now and there is now two season sections. One is League of Wales and the other is Welsh Premier League. Onshore

Although the league changed in 2002? Also I didn't try to delete the League of Wales seasons as it was in use until 2002. I had to change League of Wales seasons to League of Wales seasons (1992-2002) because it was duplicating the information with Welsh Premier League seasons Onshore

Okay fair point. Well it's now says "League of Wales / Welsh Premier League" hope you have no objections to this? and we'll leave it at that Onshore

So what is going to happen when the Welsh Premier League is split into two divisions in a few seasons from now? Onshore P.S. I'll leave the navbox as it is because at this rate it would have just blown out as a fude or something

Also Thank You for sorting out the caregories, it was taking me ages trying to change it to League of Wales :-) Onshore

Transfers

Hi. I was just wondering why you deleted my list of the 2007/08 Premier League highest transfers.

Ok no problem

Tottenham Hotspur

so why can't the badge be used...when in the club season football infobox there is a section labelled "logo =" and the description being "{{{logo}}} — The club logo."?

FC Shortcuts

Just a quick tip for you. The next time you wish to link a football club all you need to do is type {{fc|Team Name}} rather than the full name. I did that on the Derby County record. NoseNuggets (talk) 1:46 PM US EDT May 14 2008

Hey Peejay, I've provided a link on the Manchester United discussion page. I was just browsing through the Sheffield United website and it stated that he left Sheff Utd to join Man Utd on March 9th 2008.

Why is BBC always wrong? Where's Nery Castillo playing next season?

BBC is even worse than ESPN, they told us that Peter Crouchs deal was about 11 million. I have a question about Nery Castillo regarding next season. Is Castillo going to return to Shaktar Donetsk next season or did he ofically transfer to Manchester City. I'm a little confused right now about that and you're the one who knows everything and I just want to know what's going on next season regarding Nery Castillo.

Fabio

I've been writing articles for 5 years on Wiki and that's not how I interpret the spirit of wiki - you will find lots of reserve team players on here so how do you justify this decision? Theo Walcott was a prime example and I could point out lots of examples

David Healy

What is wrong with the David Healy page of his international carrer if you merge it with the main page it makes the list longer.

'You should also realise that they didn't use the same formation in every match'. What am I supposed to know. my opinion is that scolari always used a 5-3-2 formation with Brazil and yet you criticize me for not knowing. I take it you are another one of the upper class snobs in wikipedia who claim to be right about everything.

formation for Brazil.

have a look at formation (association football) on wikipedia and have a look at 3-5-2 and you will see Brazil 2002 World Cup winner played it all the way throughout the tournament. Ronaldinho played as a central midfielder and Rivaldo played as a striker alongside Ronaldo and Cafu and Roberto Carlos played as wingers.

yep I was right about you. you are an arrogant upper class snob who claims to know everything like everyone on wikipedia. just because people get things wrong you like to put people down by showing off your arrogance.

enforcing policy!!!! why are u involved with people who want to make people be wrong all the time and writing u should do this and that and effectively saying ha you're wrong and I'm right and I am the best because I am a computer master with wikipedia who has got A's and B's in computer science or whatever and there is nothing u can do about it. why mate? why be involved with nasty people like that.

alplogy accepted. at least there is some decent human beings around.

Scum FC

It's amazing how often people waste their time doing things like that. I'm a Liverpool fan myself so I'm the first person in line to insult Man Utd, but it's just ridiculous. BTW – If it interests you, and you've got the time, maybe you could put a little work in to the Rio Ferdinand article? Sentences like this aren't doing the Rio man any favours:

"Ferdinand's early Man Utd form was very poor, which culminated in his horror show against Real Madrid in the Champions League. Ferdinand is often criticised for his tendency to make crucial errors and have lapses in concentration. Most notably, Franco Baresi labelled him as a poser."

Sure, he was a slow starter but "horror show poser" is not a good nickname to have! Also, the career subheadings for the clubs aren't displayed in the contents page. How weird is that? Sillyfolkboy (talk) 20:08, 5 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Just to update you, I've removed the POV and given the Ferdinand article a thorough seeing to. Cheers. Sillyfolkboy (talk) 20:06, 6 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Colour with Rugby navbox templates

I have added a vote at the rugby union community here on the subject that I believe that is at the very heart of the matter. I support one uniform coding for all clubs out there, however for me they should have their club colours, and not in purple. The RWC template does not allow the use of colours to the best of my knowledge. In short I believe that people either want coloured navboxes or do not, that is the crux of the issue here and the one that should be voted on. Many thanks.Londo06 07:28, 12 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Tom Jones

Hi there. I've moved Tom Jones (footballer) to Tom Jones (footballer born 1899) to disambig him from another footballer. I've also fixed the former page to redirect to the disambig page. I've corrected the wikilink on the List of Manchester United F.C. players page but I've not changed the link on your own page; since I expect you use it to watch pages easier. I thought it best to let you know rather than change it. Peanut4 (talk) 22:05, 19 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

No worries. I've got my own page to catch Bradford City players and particularly any new players, so I know how important it might be to you, for someone else not to edit the page. Peanut4 (talk) 22:14, 19 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Coins

PeeJay,

As I said in the past, I am doing "my type of edits" for a lot of countries, lot of coins, lot of different topics ... I might step on top of one of "your articles" again in the future, just understand that it is definitely not intentional. My procedure is simple: I add information about a coin in Wikipedia, I check for article(s) that could also reference that coin, if it does not have a refence then I add it. Some editors do love my references, some do not; so there is no right or wrong here. If I add anything in the future again, please feel free to revert.

Thanks, Miguel.mateo (talk) 15:08, 21 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Wales-England border

I know what the guidance WP:BOLDTITLE says. The problem is that, without a bold title in the lead paragraph, the article looks odd, unfinished and scrappy. You may not agree, but 99% at least of articles have that bold title. In my view, the best solution (contrary to guidance) is to have the words closest to the title emboldened, as in my original draft. The second best version is my last draft, to revise the paragraph so that it contains the actual words of the title, emboldened, and in my view reads almost as well as the original. Your version, reverting to the original wording but with no words emboldened, in my view reads fine but just looks bad. Ghmyrtle (talk) 11:24, 24 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
