Milena's first appearance in the WWE was participating in the 2006 Diva Search. Despite finishing fourth WWE decided to hire her along with several eliminated contestants. She was assigned to train in Ohio Valley Wrestling, [1] and then gradually started to wrestle in Florida Championship Wrestling

Early life and modeling career

Roucka grew up in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, where she was mostly raised by a single father and her sister, Chantal. Since, she was without a mother, Milena grew up being a tomboy. Roucka studied Business at the University of British Columbia, but dropped out to pursue a career in modeling.[2] In 2004, she won the "Piel Dorada", one of the biggest Latin American based modelling contests, becoming the first North American to win.[2] She also acted in commercials for "Trident" and "Lux soap".[2]

Wrestling career

World Wrestling Entertainment

In the summer of 2006, Roucka participated in the auditions for the third installment of WWE's Diva Search Contest and reached the final 8.[2] Roucka placed fourth overall in the competition.[2] WWE signed her just a few days after her elimination, on August 24, 2006, to a developmental contract with the company.[2][4]

Ohio Valley Wrestling / Florida Championship Wrestling

She debuted in Ohio Valley Wrestling (OVW) as a heel and she served as the valet for Bad Company managing the members Mike Kruel, Shawn Osborne and Eddie Craven. She made her in-ring debut on April 4, 2007, where she teamed up with Beth Phoenix, Katie Lea and Melody in a losing effort to the team of ODB, Serena, Victoria Crawford, and Maryse.[5] She also participated in the Miss OVW contest which would be later won by ODB and the OVW Divalympics. On September 19, 2007 Roucka won a 6-way OVW divas match to capture the OVW Women's Championship.[6] She defended the title against numerous opponents including ODB, Serena and Lea. On the December 12 edition of OVW tapings she defeated Lea in a "kiss my foot match" to retain the championship.[7] On February 20, 2008 Roucka lost the title to Lea. A few weeks after losing her title, WWE ended their relationship with OVW as a developmental territory. Roucka along with several OVW talents were moved to Florida Championship Wrestling.

In March 2008, she debuted for Florida Championship Wrestling (FCW),[8] where she competed in numerous matches against The Bella Twins, Alicia Fox, Wesley Holiday, Miss Angela, Tiffany, Jenny Cash, and Veronica Blaze. Roucka made her FCW television debut in a Diva Twist off, hosted by WWE Raw Diva Kelly Kelly, which ended in a no contest. Roucka would then have her TV debut match against Wesley Holiday, where Roucka was victorious. From that point on, Roucka would usually team with Alicia Fox and Wesley Holiday against the likes of the Bella Twins, Tiffany, Miss Angela, Jenny Cash, and Eve Torres. She was defeated in the first round of the Queen of FCW contest by Angela.

Raw

On the November 17, 2008 edition of Raw, Roucka appeared as a planted Fan holding a sign proclaiming she was the WWE Women's Champion Beth Phoenix's number one fan. For a few weeks after that she was continually shown in the crowd holding signs supporting Phoenix. On the December 22 edition of Raw Santino Marella introduced her as "Rosa Mendez". During the December 29 edition of Raw, Mendes jumped from the crowd and attacked the new number one contender, Melina, to help Phoenix during a fight. The following week, Rosa attacked Melina again and was carried out by security, later in the night Stephanie McMahon had told Beth & Santino that she has been banned from WWE events. Though, the next week she disguised herself as a paparazzi attacking Melina during her in-ring entrance allowing Beth and Jillian to attack the number one contender and Kelly Kelly.
