Quickstep Technologies

Just a quick note to let you know I reverted your SD tag on this article to the original copyvio tag that I set just a minute before you. I think the copyvio will have a better chance of a speedy deletion with that tag. ttonyb1 (talk) 05:40, 19 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, please, feel free. I didn't really mean to do that; never wiki after 28 hours of no sleep. But yeah, completely sorry about that. I'm gonna take a step back for a couple of hours. Thanks for the help :) DefenseSupportParty (talk) 05:46, 19 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, get some sleep and enjoy. ttonyb1 (talk) 05:53, 19 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

redirects

If you're going to make a redirect, think it through. You created a loop here by jumping in (why???) to two related edits.

  • Test when something was created before changing things without asking. A judicious check in Talk:List of Charmed episodes would have prevented your gaff.
  • You really locked up my browser, and left the articles in an unstable state.
  • Btwv -- welcome to wikipedia, but edit boldly less quickly. It takes a good year for most to get a good handle on the do's and don't around here. Feel free to ask questions. I'm on the welcoming committee too. // FrankB 18:33, 19 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Fair enough. Appreciate the advice; I really didn't intend for that to happen. I'll be more careful from here on out. Thanks again. DefenseSupportParty (talk) 18:35, 19 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of Marcel Lapierre

A tag has been placed on Marcel Lapierre requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the article or have a copy emailed to you. Hello DefenseSupportParty, I have just created the article of this notable 20th century French Master Bow Maker. Please read the full article before you start tagging articles for deletion. We are trying to expand wiki not delete it;) Thanks in advance.Milliot (talk) 08:34, 20 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

With all due respect, sir/ma'am, I believe at the time that the tagging was appropriate. I did in fact read the article, and I found nothing particularly notable about the person. The simple fact that William Henley stated that his bows were desirable did not make the bowmaker very notable. Furthermore, you have other names that were redlinks; via these assumptions, I marked the article CSD A7. References do not an important person make.
With that in mind, it's been cleaned up significantly. I don't really like the idea of you removing the CSD yourself, but I want you to know that it wasn't haphazard. There was simply nothing in the article that made the individual seem particularly worth of an article beyond William Henley's opinion. Once again, not trying to be disrespectful, just trying to hold Wikipedia to a high standard. Thank you for letting me know you deleted the CSD, though. Fantastic job on cleaning up the article, as well. DefenseSupportParty (talk) 08:43, 20 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Inapproriate tagging for Speedy Deletion

I thoroughly agree with the User above. Please desist from inappropriate tagging for Speedy deletion. If you persist with this behaviour I will take the matter to ANI. You are wasting both your own time and the time of other Users. By all means nominate for WP:AFD, but do not just slap a Speedy tag on any article you do not like. --Mais oui! (talk) 08:47, 20 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Mais oui!, I apologize. Apparently, I have been too liberal with my use of CSD; but I fail to see how your article was noteworthy. I'm fully willing to believe that I've had a few CSDs that have likely been incorrect, but I'd be willing to bet that there are thousands of sculpters at any time within the confines of britain alone.
I may be overjudgmental here, but I fail to see significance when there is none noted in the article whatsoever. I absolutely respect your difference of opinion, but frankly, I still fail to see any particular significance to Anne Davidson. She may have sculpted and taught, but that doesn't necessarily make her notable. Once again, I'm definitely not trying to be disrespectful to you here, but I will absolutely try to be more tolerant, but I stand by my decision to tag Anne Davidson as CSD. If an admin disagrees, so be it, I'll accept that I have been incorrec. However, by A7, I see no reason she is notable. Have a good night. Port Weller Public School

Thank you for noticing that Port Weller Public School appeared to be a test, empty or nonsense article. I changed it to a redirect to the school district which runs the school, as we usually do for elementary schools that are not particularly notable. Articles about schools generally aren't speediable. -- Eastmain (talk) 00:18, 26 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry

You are very right. I have forgotten to put the references related with the article. I will give references very soon. I apologize about this. Elanoraxxx (talk) 09:12, 26 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
