I somewhat cleaned up the discography section, so just let me know what you think. :P --[[Special:Contributions/72.223.63.167|72.223.63.167]] ([[User talk:72.223.63.167|talk]]) 02:32, 29 January 2009 (UTC)

Health Reasons

health reasons are cited for being part of the reason of beck's departure from the yardbirds. can anyone clarify or elaborate on this?--Elysianfields 05:16, 26 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

it was reported tnat jeff didn't like the movie, blow-up, as he was trying to hide a hard-on and that is why he smashed his guitar. however, about 20 years later, jeff said that he had a nervous breakdown on stage and no one knew about it until after filming. the yardbirds put him into treatment. whether that was the reason he left the yardbirds, all together, is another story.

miss josh

I heard he said it was an health problem, but later the yardbirds dudes discovered he was just hanging around with his girlfriend. he left them on tour while in america and he stayd with this girl. I read that somewhere but I can't really back it up in any way. I don't really think that he didn't like the movie and destroyed the guitar because he had a "hard-on". maybe he destroyed the guitar becasue the film's ending is all about exploding things... ;-)

MySpace?

I'm sorry but I feel the myspace comment needs to be erased from this entry. MySpace bands does not allow people to put up fan profiles for bands.. and that includes for Jeff Beck. --Drowse 01:29, 18 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Jeff Beck Group

Should the band's own page be expanded or merged here ?

Either way, who was in the band 1969 - 72 ?

-- Beardo 04:23, 14 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I'd say no as the band had its own history and was influential in its own right. Plus it spawned the career of Rod Stewart (in which he was pivotal in garnering attention to the group), in which placing all just for Jeff Beck's bio page wont really be doing justice to the band nor members part of it...

Sgt. Pepper

What is the comment about Frampton trying to say ?

Is Beck on that album ?

-- Beardo 05:10, 14 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Beck is saying that after he heard Peter Frampton use a talkbox effect on his guitar on the Sgt. Pepper's movie soundtrack, he gave up using the effect. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.125.110.223 (talk) 21:47, 5 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Ho Silver Lining

One of the most memorable early tracks - could someone insert a reference and explanation of when and with whom that song was released? DWaterson 01:27, 14 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Discography???

I'm very suprised at the lack of a discography section in this article, if someone could construct one (even with just the list of albums in chronological order) it would be appreciated

I somewhat cleaned up the discography section, so just let me know what you think. :P --72.223.63.167 (talk) 02:32, 29 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Controversy

I removed this following entry on the page, if someone can clarify it could be put back up:

"There is an ongoing rumor that Jeff Beck was actually a 'part', played by a clever, behind-the-scenes songwriter and the concert showman who was seen in the public eye. It is alluded that "Jeff Beck" is the joint work of these two unindentified people. These reports have neither been denied or confirmed." Cdwillis 17:16, 17 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I have continously put "heavy metal" under the genre section, someone keeps deleting it despite the fact that in the FIRST PARAGRAPH it cites him as a heavy metal musician. This may require lockdown.

Guitar Smashing

Is Jeff Beck really known for his guitar smashing antics? I thought that was Pete Townshend (and Jimi Hendrix sometimes). I know Beck destroys his guitar in Blow Up, but I haven't seen any other Yarbirds footage were he does, or even heard of him doing it on stage for that matter.--Bappzannigan 22:09, 16 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

No, he isn't really known for it. Michelangelo Antonioni witnessed The Who smash their equipment, not the Yardbirds. I'm adding a citation to reflect that and fixing the paragraph. Clashwho 20:22, 2 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

IIRC Beck has said he was reluctant to do it, as he didn't want to be seen as stealing Townshend's act —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.125.110.223 (talk) 21:50, 5 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

First name.

I'm gonna remove the constant "Jeff Beck" in the trivia section. It's obvious that Beck refers to him in this context. It sounds like a bloody Chuck Norris-fest right now.

Jeff Beck doesn't need a pick. Jeff Beck can play the guitar just by thinking about it.

that's clever! :-D

--Also if someone would clean up the phrasing and gushing tone of the article, that'd be great. I mean, he's awesome, but it sounds like a 15-year-old fan wrote this entire section. Correct me if I'm wrong. If you hate clicking, DO NOT click here. 07:18, 22 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Dear friend, most of (almost all) articles regarding popular music sound like some 15-year old fans wrote them. After all, it is obvious that musicians, most of academics and professional journalists are too busy to get involved with Wikipedia and its rules. Any Info on The Boot w/SRV

We normally include as much discography as possible (within reason) and I'm wondering why neither the Stevie ray Vaughn, nor Jeff Beck page make reference to a recording that they did in '89. Anyone have any info on this? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Brian Stegner (talkcontribs) 21:36, 17 April 2007 (UTC).[reply]

never heard of a beck/SRV album: if it exists, record executives would have had it printed long time ago. there're a lot of bootlegs from the tour they did back in '89. at the end of the show they used to jam together, so every P2P network is full of "beck/srv" songs, but they're just bootleg live recordings

Picture

Their has to be a better picture out there to represent him than that —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 76.106.44.131 (talk) 00:32, 11 May 2007 (UTC).[reply]

BBA

Perhaps something should be said about the collaboration with the tandem Bogert-Appice. The project should have started after the end of Vanilla Fudge but somehow did not, so we got a few Cactus albums instead. And when it really started, it was disappointing, but now we do not remember...al 21:44, 10 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Bass Player on Crossroads

I just noticed that Tal Wilkenfeld was playing bass for Beck on the Crossroads show, and corresponding tour, yet this isnt mentioned in the corresponding section of this article. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 203.59.186.111 (talk) 06:22, 1 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

This might be good to mention in the article. New article at Tal Wilkenfeld. Badagnani 04:41, 2 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Beck, Bogert and Appice

There is something not quite right in this article. Although Beck's car accident delayed things for 10 months the three piece band did complete an album named "Beck, Bogert and Appice", had a moderately successful single with a cover of "Superstition" and undertook a multi-date tour of European capital cities and a later tour of the far East, including Japan (where a live album was recorded and later released in Japan). Formed in 1972 the band was together until late 1974. The short lived Cactus had broken up before the BB&A recording and touring. 21stCenturyGreenstuff (talk) 21:58, 12 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
