QSound is a sound enhancement system from QSound Labs to create 3D audio effects from a stereo source. The system was used in several Capcom CPS1 titles and in most, if not all CPS2 and CPS3 titles as well as several console games and some non-CPS system Capcom arcade games such as Battle Arena Toshinden 2. Electronic Arts, ActivisionLink title, Microsoft Games Studios, Sega, Virgin Interactive, TDK Mediactive, Bullfrog Productions, and Lionhead Studios have also used the technology. While the system is mainly known for it's use in video game titles the first QSound chip used for that purpose was not created until 1991, while QSound had been created in the 1980's and has been used in everything from screensavers to television programming
