Because he is called a criminal, without any political intellect, although his links with the BNP etc are made much of. It is the same with the way he is frequently referred to as insane, and held in an institution for the insane, yet was tried and convicted as a sentient criminal.

Just for the record, the police's exhaustive analysis of CCTV footage had nothing directly to do with Copeland's eventual capture. He was only tracked down after one of his workmates (who also worked with Copeland's dad, all of them employed on the building of the Jubilee Line extension) recognised his picture in the newspaper and told the police who Copeland was. Even then, the police were slow to take action and the small number of officers who eventually went to Copeland's address weren't even armed! If Copeland had decided against coming quietly, the arrest could have ended in disaster because Copeland had a loaded crossbow next to his bed! I'm not knocking the police, I'm sure they tried their hardest, but if it hadn't been for the intervention of Copeland's workmate, they may not have captured him before he set off another bomb or two! Scary stuff!!

You sound like a right laugh!

The police analysed thousands of hours of CCTV footage to find an image of the bomber which was publicised immediately in the press leading to his arrest. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.0.146.105 (talk) 00:35, 27 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Not a terrorist...

I came to this article via List of terrorist incidents in the United Kingdom which mentions Copeland in a sub-list of "terrorist-like incidents". Does anyone know why this guy was charged with murder and not terrorist offences? --Kick the cat 00:59, 30 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Probably because he's not a member of any recognized terror group, rather he's a lone nut with fireworks and nails. This doesn't make him less of a murderer, just less substancial. --smb2a01 July 2007 (UTC)

How gay does he look in that photo? I'm sure he's very popular in prison —Preceding unsigned comment added by 90.57.196.184 (talk) 14:54, 25 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The neo-fascist line on terrorist organisation is inspired by William Pierce, who advocates "leaderless resistance" of the type that Copeland was carrying out--Streona (talk) 18:01, 2 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
