Where is his Abidi fights (non-MMA fights).

I think it should be added on the part where he fought sakuraba that he was dominating the fight with vicious slams for a good part of the fight. The Sakuraba got him in the rear naked choke and tapped him out. That is why he became so popular, because of the slams. The article doesn't mention that part of their first fight, and I think it is pivotal because it set fans up for wanting more.

quinton vs chuck liddell

rampage is the last person to beat the UFC light heavyweight champion Chuck "the iceman" liddell. he beat chuck in PRIDE. rampage is now in the UFC light heavyweight division and has had 1 fight against Marvin "the beastman" Eastman, Rampage was victorious and he was also victorious in his rematch against Chuck Liddell for the light heavy weight title.

Question

"He and his wife Yuki were separated in April 2006 after a blood test showed he fathered one of his children, Raja, with another woman" - This doesn't make sense at all. I checked the reference and it confirms this, but it still doesn't make sense. Why would they need a blood test to confrim another woman had his child? One would think it would be obvious to his wife that she isn't the biological mother if she DIDN'T HAVE THE KID. Does anyone actually understand this? Why would his wife leave him after discovering the obvious? Did he manage to trick her in to thinking she was actually pregnant for 9 months and had the kid, and simply forgot it all? --128.193.4.98 19:19, 11 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It could make sense if Jackson was given custody of Raja after the blood test. hateless 20:12, 11 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I deleted an entry by Hexrei because it was a malicious statement void of proof. I am disappointed that Wikipedia had not made the correction of the libelous entry themselves.

I'm not going to dig to find out who you are, unnamed wikier, but its not a malicious statement if its a SOURCED QUOTE. jerk. don't sling those kinds of accusations at me.Hexrei 05:58, 22 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Actually, I just went back to find the correction you made, and the "malicious statement" you attributed to me was in fact not made by me. Try checking history next time please.Hexrei 06:02, 22 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Alright so I'm just going to fix this one myself.Hexrei 03:28, 3 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

So I suck at wikipedia'ing but I hope my change clarified the situation just a little bit.Hexrei 03:30, 3 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I've removed reference to his wife splitting up within the person section. The link has either expired or never existed, so we are unable to verify based on the reference. Additionally, via various searches on La Times archives, http://pqasb.pqarchiver.com/latimes/ , no article exists that contains this information. Until someone can provide valid sources this should remain off of the wiki article.--Chadq 00:48, 28 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Don't you think you're being extreme about this? Sourcing expired articles is not forbidden on WP, and we have discussion here with three people who have seen the source and vouch for its authenticity. If you want to see the text of the article, it's archived at two message boards, here and here. hateless 05:18, 28 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
First of all I didn't write this portion, I just clarified it. The earlier excerpt was unclear and left a lot to speculation which doesn't make sense when we had a sourced reference. Second, as I mentioned, it was cited, so I don't see why it's a problem to include it. Does the simple fact that some might find it scandalous make it against WP, even if it is referenced?Hexrei 05:58, 22 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The article is also currently still in the LA Times google cache.[1]--Ty580 05:46, 28 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Albinism

For anyone curious why Wikipedia shows a picture of Jackson with a white son, the son shows characteristics of albinism in the UFC:All Access footage. There don't appear to be any sources to attribute this too, though.--Ty580 05:20, 28 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Curious Gossip

Firstly, regarding the previous posting regarding Jackson's child from another woman, other than his wife, this person seems to be asking a "birds & bees" question that does not deserve to be on Wikipedia. (Psssst....his wife thought the other woman had a child by another man. The blood test proved it was, in fact, Quinton's.) Secondly, why is the topic of this kind of gossip on here in the first place, meaning in the article initially posted by Wikipedia? It seems like an odd piece of information to be noted in this article. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 65.60.65.42 (talkcontribs)

It's not gossip, it was found in an article in the LA Times and it appears Rampage volunteered the information himself (albeit I admit there's no proof of that). However marital status is commonly found in WP bios and I don't see anything wrong with noting it, nor a simple explanation for that status. I can however see removing the blood test info if there are WP:BLP issues.l hateless 18:32, 30 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

check and change someone (i dont know how too) Matthew7785 20:42, 15 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Rampage weight

He weighs 230 was confirmed in a Sirius radio interview. Think that should be listed as his weight rather than his fighting weight.

The weight fluctuates daily and it's going to drop as he ramps up training. We can't change the weight as he does. 205 has been certified by a government agency, for our purposes the most useful number to note, and it should be the weight we record. hateless 08:43, 22 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Not sure I agree Hateless. I guess maybe clarification is needed, is the weight category there to list the fighter's recent weight class, the exact weight of their last weigh-in, or to list their actual day to day weight? I see problems with each possibility, not least that fighters often don't weight exactly their weight class even on the weight-in day, much less the day before or the day after. However, this discussion is obviously relevant to more than just Rampage, where is the proper place to discuss this? Hexrei 21:45, 22 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Template talk:MMAstatsbox would be the place to discuss the template box but Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Mixed martial arts would probably be better since it's more frequented. hateless 23:25, 22 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Undisputed championship

It's technically not undisputed, since there are other orgs other than PRIDE and UFC that recognize a "World" light heavy champ, ie, WEC's Doug Marshall, or Cage Rage's Antonio Silva. We also can't say he's the ranked #1 fighter, Rua is on top of most lists. I'm leaning toward rewriting to say he unified the sport's top two most prestigious titles instead. hateless 23:45, 9 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Or we could avoid choosing a term and just say he holds the PRIDE and UFC light heavyweight belts. Sancho 23:54, 9 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
He did not win the PRIDE title though. The PRIDE title is nothing at this point. Instead, the UFC belt is going to be used as the unified title. Instead of undisputed I think it should say unified, because that is what it is. Thesaddestday 00:21, 10 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Right, good point. That makes sense to call it the unified title. Sancho 00:25, 10 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Jackson's comment on Sakuraba fight

Quinton Jackson claimed that PRIDE officials offered him more money if he lost to Sakuraba at PRIDE 15. This information was included in the PRIDE 15 article but was then removed without an explanation. Comments? Shawnc (talk) 16:48, 1 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Jackson's MMA record with new management

(In reference to trainer betrayal)I think it would be fair to add that he has (so far) gone 6-0 in MMA with his new coach(es) and manager - Juanito Ibarra. --ShadowSlave 00:21, 14 June 2008 (UTC)—Preceding unsigned comment added by ShadowSlave (talkcontribs) 23:44, 13 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Jackson's loss to Forrest

Can we all 'agree to disagree' that it was a close fight? I'm going to repost a very balanced edition to the summary of the fight that is substantiated by a reference. Before removing it (without a reference), please have a discussion with me. InternetHero (talk) 19:28, 7 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I rewrote it a bit to remove some small weasel words and such. Does it look OK? aktsu (talk) 19:56, 7 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

User:24.118.252.212 keeps reverting to an older, unsourced, description of the fight. Can someone else please revert it? aktsu (talk) 22:04, 7 July 2008 (UTC)I'm not sure how to edit the quinton page but it says quinton used his signature power bomb which is wrong. Forrest almost had quinton in a triangle choke and quinton attempted to power bomb him but was stoped when Forrest grabbed his legs.[reply]

Uh, Jackson lost to Griffin, why does it say he won? Also why is there an outcome for a fight later in october? Someone is vandalising this entry. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 165.173.63.112 (talk) 16:53, 14 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

HOLD YOUR HEAD UP!

I don't know if rampage will see this but I trully hope he does I've been reading what the media has to say about you and you got to let that roll off your back, remember they talked about Jesus Christ with that being said hold your head up and continue to pray.I want you to know that you have more fans than you can imagine and me and my husband happen to be your biggest ones we love you quinton it's like you are part of our family.we saw the fight with forrest griffin and yes it sucked big time,I feel like the timing was off you were not into it you looked as if something was bothering you like something was weighing heavy on your mind.and you went into the octogon with that heavy burden and you let it out weigh you,but that's possible because you are human.it's so much I want to say to you I wish you could call me,just know that Griffin is by no means a better fighter than you , nor will he ever be. remember UFC 67 you were in such great shape and so light on your feet, come on champ get back to those extreme workouts and get back in the octogon we are waiting on you,we need you ,we want you.and remember GOD will not put you through more than you can bear.we love you,you are the people's CHAMP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.123.114.245 (talk) 02:28, 3 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Victim Miscarries Following Crash With Rampage

The information placed in this article is inaccurate and out-dated. And the fact that the article is locked continues to propagate the perception that Jackson was responsible for the victim's miscarriage. It should be removed entirely from this article.

The incident has been reviewed by the Orange County District Attorney and the victim's physician. It was determined that "the evidence showed that the loss of the fetus was not related to the crash." Spontaneous miscarriage is most common in the first trimester.

Evidence supporting that the miscarriage was not the result of the car accident:

Birth date in infobox is incorrect?

In the infobox in the article, it says the Quintin Jackson's birth date is July 5, 1978, but in the introduction, it says 20 June, 1978. I looked up on Google for matches regarding the 20 June birthday, but I only found one result for July 5, which is the Wikipedia article. Since there are more results for 20 June, 1978, would this be considered the right birth date? SchfiftyThree 21:27, 6 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I have also just found out that many of the websites I saw showing the birth date as June 20, 1978 are copied versions of the Quinton Jackson article from Wikipedia. SchfiftyThree 21:30, 6 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Both Sherdog and PRIDE says June 20, so I say we go by that. --aktsu (t / c) 03:58, 7 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Miscarriage relevant information?

"Her name is Holly Griggs and she's 38 years old."

Is naming the victim really relevant? Especially considering that she has not pressed any charges? Transistorapparat995 (talk) 23:13, 16 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The miscarriage information should be removed from this article. Please read the section above detailing how it was not related to the crash. If it is not related to the crash, then it does not belong on Jackson's page. They are unrelated events. Furthermore, I agree it is no prudent to have the victim's name or information on this page. --Caspace3 (talk) 23:26, 21 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Atlantic article and 'stealing'

I restored the reference to the December 2008 Atlantic article on Jackson and its suggestion that -- and I'm quoting from the piece -- "Jackson had gone off the deep end and fired his trainer, who had been caught stealing from him."[1] Austinmayor (talk) 18:32, 19 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The article is stating "internet rumors". Internet rumors can't be used as documentation. If they can then according to internet rumors Jackson is a baby killer & we should add this to his profile. I just read an article about the supposed stealing and Jackson refused to confirm the rumors. In fact the article stated that Jackson never accused his old trainer of stealing from him. Neither party has, as of yet, stated why they went separate ways. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Qwertasdfgzx (talkcontribs) 18:53, 19 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

An apostrophe is missing in the The Ultimate Fighter 7 section.

"Going into the semifinals only 2 of Jacksons original fighters made the cut while Forrest had 6 of his fighters advance. In the finale Team Griffin's pick, Amir Sadollah beat Team Rampage's top fighter C.B. Dollaway via armbar in the first round."

Change "Jacksons" to "Jackson's".— Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.225.171.33 (talkcontribs)

Sense of Humor?

I realize that the reference to Jackson's sense of humor is sourced with a published omment by Joe Rogan, but does this really belong in the article? Bluntly speaking, I've never heard Jackson say anything remotely funny. --Stuthehistoryguy (talk) 14:46, 4 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

He gave most of those in Pride FC.

Too me when he says such great lines as "I let my wolf out" in a post-fight interview, Ill say this guy is hilarious (intentional or not) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.226.123.106 (talk) 03:46, 2 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Rashad Evens

Rampage Jackson and UFC champion Rashad Sugar Evans had some words after Rampage Jackson and Keith Jardenes fight Rampage and Evans will have a chance to go at it in the octagon for the ufc champinship at UFC 98 —Preceding unsigned comment added by Thomasjones2457 (talkcontribs) 08:28, 9 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

3rd Pride FC Middleweight Champion

I think this is incorrect

When Rampage beat Dan Henderson the Pride belt ended- there is no current Pride titleholder&Rampage has never been introducted as that champion anywhere, it is counted as a defense of his LHW belt.

The Title was Unified with UFC Light Heavyweight Championship --David.snipes (talk) 02:20, 4 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
