Tamer Hassan (born 18 March 1968 in London) is an English actor of Turkish Cypriot descent.
Biography
Tamer Hassan was born in London, England into a Turkish Cypriot family. Having sustained an injury in boxing, Hassan started to run nightclubs, restaurants and is now the owner, chairman, coach and player of both Greenwich Borough Football Club and is a big fan of Millwall football club. He also runs Eltham Boxing Gym, bur he later moved into acting.
Acting career
Hassan started acting in roles in television before playing a minor role in the comedy The Calcium Kid. He later was cast in the role of the leader of a fictional football firm in The Football Factory. Further collaboration with Nick Love lead to a lead role in The Business.
Hassan has also had a number of minor roles in other films, such as The Ferryman, Batman Begins, Cass, and Eastern Promises.
Football
He participated in the annual charity football tournament, Premier League All Stars, playing for West Ham United, who he represented in this tournament along with his good friend Danny Dyer, even though he is a big fan of their London rivals, Millwall F.C.. Hassan grabbed the third goal in the 4-0 win over Reading. In the quarter final against Wigan Athletic he was sent off after a scuffle involving Paul Bass and Adam Jones.
