This tragedy deserves to be reported accurately and responsibly. Can we get a reference that Smith had adopted Joe Cole? It was my understanding that Joe Cole did not live full-time with Smith and Dennis Cole during their brief marriage. Calling him her son, or even her stepson, is incorrect and un-encyclopedic. Just because one's parent remarries during one's adolescence does not make one's parent's new spouse one's stepparent. This addition seems tangential and tabloidesque. Please respond here on the talk page to explain why your understanding of their family situation was different before re-adding the claim or it will be presumed to be vandalism. I wish more was elaborated on why Jaclyn Smith is considered so beautiful. I think it is because she comes across as a strong positive compassionate caring person - a heroic romantic ideal. Physical beauty is a form of power, especially these days. Power corrupts but Jaclyn seems to have remained uncorrupted by her physical beauty and this makes her truly wonderful. |

Gay Icon Project
In my effort to merge the now-deleted list from the article Gay icon to the Gay icons category, I have added this page to the category. I engaged in this effort as a "human script", adding everyone from the list to the category, bypassing the fact-checking stage. That is what I am relying on you to do. Please check the article Gay icon and make a judgment as to whether this person or group fits the category. By distributing this task from the regular editors of one article to the regular editors of several articles, I believe that the task of fact-checking this information can be expedited. Thank you very much. Philwelch 22:15, 24 Mar 2005 (UTC)
Spelling of name
A poster changed the spelling of her first name to Jacquelyn. Every source I've seen gives it as Jaclyn. Is there any cite for the other spelling? MK2 04:32, 14 November 2005 (UTC)
- And while we're on the subject, while she commonly uses her middle name, her real name is Ellen Jaclyn Smith not Jaclyn Ellen Smith. MK2 04:35, 14 November 2005 (UTC)
Her name is Ellen Jaclyn Smith never was Jacquelyn I have know this since I was a child.

UTSA Reference
I'm heavily working on the University of Texas at San Antonio page, and I'm wondering, did she graduate from UTSA, or did she go to school there for a little while? Csyberblue

Fixed a link that was previously directed at a MUCH older Jane Seymour. Forgot to mention this when editing, sorry! Indja 22:07, 24 November 2006 (UTC)
Birthyear
Was Jaclyn born in 1945 or 1947? Both years have appeared on this site. Hotwine8 19:21, 20 February 2007 (UTC)

IMDB in not the most reliable source since it is not reference and open to public.74.73.176.161 (talk) 13:04, 12 April 2009 (UTC)
Trivia Section
Per WP:TRIV, trivia sections should be delisted and notable information incorporated within the prose. If someone more familiar with the subject could do this, that would save any information that would be lost in a wholesale deletion of the entire section.
