Robert IronE Singleton (born Janurary 4, 1975) is an American actor, screenwriter, emcee, lyricist, director and producer. Being a graduate in Theatre and Speech Communications from the University of Georgia and born and raised in the inner city of Atlanta Georgia, IronE brings the dualism of street knowledge and scholarly intellect to the industry. [1].

Early life

IronE's passion and drive peaked during his earlier years of dancing and recreational football. He has always had a die-hard and live harder mentality; one that against many odds landed him on the football playing field of Kentucky State University (KSU) and later the Bulldog's football field at the University of Georgia (UGA). While football served as IronE's physical outlet and alternative to violence in the inner city, acting served as a supplement which later became his passion, giving him the freedom of spiritual and emotional expression for which he had always longed.

At KSU, IronE was given his first opportunity to test his raw acting talent. He knew almost instantaneously during his performance of Sophisticated Ladies that he had discovered his element. He furthered his acting career at UGA where after two performances, Fences and The Colored Museum, the President of the Black Theatrical Ensemble (BTE), recognizing his raw talent and passion for acting, nominated him to be his successor as President of BTE. It was as President he gained a vast array of technical, marketing, and managerial experiences. After years of training and theatrical performances including A Soldiers Play, Richard III, Angels in America etc., IronE landed a lead role in Georgia Public Television's Transitions. [2]

IronE's career took flight as he performed for audiences throughout America in the national stage play Sugar Daddy Cite error: The <ref> tag has too many names (see the help page). where he acted opposite national celebrities. "IronE" has performed before and alongside the likes of Denzel Washington, Chris Tucker, Prince, Jay-Z, Beyonce and the list goes on. IronE appeared in BET's first original scripted comedy entitled "SOMEBODIES" (writer, producer, director and star- Hadjii). [3] IronE, also completed his first feature length comedy, "WHITE MAN, BLACK MAN, JEW MAN" [4]which is starring, written, directed, and produced by IronE and his production company... IronE Productions. [5] IronE has completed his feature length script, "VOLLEYBALL VIXENS" and is in the process of completing many other screenplays and stageplays. IronE can be seen in Warner Bros. One Tree Hill (TV series) [3] and throughout the world in Warner BrothersThe Blind Side with Sandra Bullock, Kathy Bates, and Tim McGraw. [3] Additionally, there's a slew of other projects he has coming down the pipeline including Warner Brothers Lottery Ticket and The Hungry Rabbit That Jumps Cite error: The <ref> tag has too many names (see the help page). with Nicolas Cage and Guy Pearce.

IronE recently completed his One Man Stage production, IronE the Resurrected. [1] “IronE… The Resurrected” is a one man show based on a true story that chronicles the life of writer, director, actor IronE Singleton. “IronE…The Resurrected” shows IronE’s transformation by sharply contrasting the trials and tribulations of his life growing up destitute living in a housing project in Atlanta during the onset of the hip hop explosion and crack epidemic to his attendance as a student/athlete at The University of Georgia where his spiritual bliss is attained. Through drama, comedy, dance, spoken word and rap, "IronE… The Resurrected" takes you on a roller coaster ride of emotions and peaks with a surprisingly explosive conclusion. The main and only character of this production, IronE, plays a multitude of characters. In addition to playing his alter ego, appropriately named, “Alter E”, he plays, Kid E, Teen E and Scholar E in order to depict his life as a child, a teenager and student athlete at The University of Georgia. Also, IronE transforms himself into a thug, crack addict, a hoochie mama, a drag queen, an Englishman, an Asian, a Hispanic, Richard III from Shakespeare, GOD and his own deceased mother before our very eyes. There is also a tribute to Dr. King and Gandhi. This show offers a perspective on the psyche of a young man growing up in America. Overall, this show explores the human condition and offers a solution to the issues we all encounter as human beings.[6]
