Very little explicit information is revealed about her, save that she was very dependent on her mother for comfort and that her father repeatedly raped and otherwise abused her. Clues throughout the game imply that Angela’s mother convinced her that she deserved to be raped, and that eventually the poor woman burned down her house with her family inside. When James meets her, Angela seems unaware of her past, but still retains her extreme fear of physical contact. At the end of the game it seems Angela is full of guilt over her actions, unable to forgive or even justify her actions against an abusive household. Her personal demons are manifested as fires burning everywhere (possibly representing suicidal tendencies) and the Abstract Daddy monster James encounters. when angela last meets james she is standing on a stair case thats on fire shes then realises james can't save her from her own madness and walks into the fire which engulfs her but this dosent mean that she was killed as there is a body laying on the floor being eaten by a closer monster in silent hill 3 that looks like angela.
  • Eddie Dombrowski is an unstable young man James meets in town. As the story progresses, James learns that Eddie, after a lifetime of ridicule, ran away from his hometown after killing a dog and shooting the dog's owner in the leg. While exploring the town, James finds a number of bodies killed execution-style, some or all of which may have been killed by Eddie. In the end, Eddie confronts James, threatening to kill him after James states that he too finds Eddie's actions repugnant. James guns Eddie down in self-defense. Eddie's demons in the town manifested as everything -- not just people, but everything -- laughing at or otherwise making fun of him, which only catered to and increased his homicidal tendencies as he was permitted to shoot anything and everything in sight.
  • Laura is a smug little girl James encounters in town several times. She claims that she was in the hospital at the same time as Mary, recently, but James refuses to believe her. Eventually, James discovers that Laura was a close friend of his dead wife's, and that Laura felt James never cared about and even hated Mary. Laura, being an innocent child, does not see any of the monsters the other characters encounter, and leaves Silent Hill, either with or without James depending on the ending.
  • Maria is a seductive young woman that bears a remarkable resemblance to James’ late wife. She tempts and clings to James and as the story progresses, James sees Maria repeatedly killed. In the end, James recognizes Maria for what she really is: an embodiment of lust and selfish desire, simply created to quell his feelings of guilt over what he did to Mary. Depending on the acquired ending, James either guns her down after she becomes a monster or selfishly escapes Silent Hill with her. This possible ending suggests that she will come down with the same disease that Mary had and James will inflict the same fate upon Maria as he did his wife Mary.

Silent Hill 3

  • Heather Morris is a seventeen-year-old girl with an attitude. Heather's real name is Cheryl Mason, the infant given to Harry by the merged Alessa at the end of the first game, but she lives under the pseudonym while under Harry's care. Since the cult’s failure in 1986, the remaining leaders spent years looking for Harry and the child. Eventually, with the help of private detective Douglas Cartland, they located Heather and lured her back to Silent Hill by killing her father. There, Heather hunted down the remaining leaders of the cult and foiled the God’s birth for a second time. After defeating the cultists, Heather abandoned her false identity and took up her real name again.
  • Douglas Cartland is a private investigator in his fifties hired by Claudia Wolf to find Heather. While investigating her, Douglas finds a lot of strange inconsistencies in the information. Douglas tracks Heather down to a shopping mall near her home. This action sparks off the strange events of the game. Eventually, Douglas takes Heather to Silent Hill so she can exact her revenge against the cultists. While driving there Dougles mentions that he went to Silent Hill once on a missing person's case to no avail. The people he mentions are probably, although not specifically stated to be, James and Mary from Silent Hill 2 (vague clues in Silent Hill 4 may support this theory). Douglas is a single divorced father. His son was killed while trying to rob a bank at an unspecified time in the past. Douglas blames himself and his financial difficulties for his son's reckless behaviour that cost him his life.
  • Claudia Wolf is a priestess of the cult, in her late twenties or early thiries. She holds a very dogmatic view of the order, in contrast to Father Vincent's more worldly attitude, and believes that to save mankind, she must find, Heather, the reincarnation of Alessa and bring about the rebirth of God. To do this, she hires Douglas Cartland, who later turns on her when he finds out her agenda. Many of her beliefs can be traced back to Dahlia Gillespie who, we are told by Vincent, "brainwashed" her. She was close childhood friends with Alessa, and abused by her father, Leonard, when she was younger.
  • Father Vincent is a high priest of the Silent Hill cult, but is more interested in increasing his own powers and wealth than arranging the birth of a new demon. He indulges in the pleasures of the real world. He does not want to see the birth of "God" and the ensuing reshaping of the world into the twisted decaying Otherworld. He gives Heather some left-handed advice, but in the end, Claudia kills him when he tries to betray her. He seems to know a great deal about the Otherworld and how it relates to the real world. In a key cut-scene, he accuses Heather of being a hypocrite after killing so many (he remains ambiguous about how many whats), to which Heather retorts that they were monsters out to kill her. His next sentence is, "Monsters? They look like monsters to you?" This fact on its own presents a great deal of leverage to the theory that the protagonists of each game are actually killing people, their images changed by the town's influence to appear as grotesque products of their worst nightmares.
  • Leonard Wolf is Claudia's father and was once a leading member of the Silent Hill cult. He was the keeper of the Seal of Metatron, which he believes to be capable of stopping the birth of God. The player later learns that this belief is unfounded. Leonard holds a different view of "God" and paradise then his daughter. Leonard believes only a chosen few and true believers should be allowed into paradise. After stabbing someone in a religious argument, he was sectioned in Brookhaven Hospital. He appears to the player as a deformed monster, possibly due to Claudia's influence on the Otherworld, as we later find out that he abused his daughter.
  • Harry Mason went home with the infant given to him before leaving Silent Hill. Years later, he killed a cult member that had tracked him and his daughter down. As a result, he and Cheryl were placed in the witness relocation program and given the names Harry and Heather Morris. Eventually, with the help of Douglas Cartland, the cult located the Masons again and killed Harry. Heather, enraged by her father’s murder traveled to Silent Hill to seek revenge. Before heading to Silent Hill, Heather found Harry’s journal and learned that he had considered killing the child out of fear of her power but was unable to do it because he loved her, no matter what.

Silent Hill 4: The Room

  • Henry Townshend is a young man in his late twenties who lives in Room 302 of the South Ashfield Heights apartment building, having moved there two years ago after being "attracted" to the room in a sense he couldn't quite understand. His strange saga begins when he finds himself trapped inside his apartment with a hole in his bathroom as his only means of escape. It is theorized that his attraction was in part due to Walter's subconscious influence on him, Henry living the life of peace and tranquility inside Room 302 that Walter, himself, was denied. Henry Townshend is often criticized by Silent Hill fans for his extremely deadened emotional responses to events throughout the totality of Silent Hill 4. Most fans believe that this is the result of poor writing and voice acting. A minority of fans believe that this is a deliberate action, forcing the player to imagine Henry as themselves rather than an independent character, as well as other theories that his deadened emotional responses have story significance. Given that his life effectively changed overnight when he first moved into Room 302, becoming a hermit and shutting himself in, it can be guessed that his extremely mellow nature is a carry-over of Walter's influence on inherently finding peace and serenity within the room. Regardless, hints to his personality and life prior to 302 can be found in his reactions to certain items in his room.
  • Eileen Galvin is a woman in her early twenties who is five-year resident of the South Ashfield Heights apartment 303. Although she lives next door to Henry, she does not know him very well. As a young girl, she met Walter in a subway where he was brooding over life, and she gave him her shabby doll, one of the only kind things Walter had ever seen happen in his life. As such, her image remains in his mind, and she was chosen to be the 20th Sacrament, the Mother Reborn.
  • Frank Sunderland is the superintendent of the South Ashfield Heights apartment building. Frank sees the supposed disappearance of Henry as another in the long line of strange events involving Room 302. Frank is the father of James Sunderland from Silent Hill 2.
  • Cynthia Velasquez is a very attractive and sexually provocative young woman Henry meets in the South Ashfield subway station, on his very first "adventure". Walter met her in the subway as a young child, and was disgusted when she and her friends were unjustly rude to the boy.
  • Jasper Gein is a young man whose hobby is investigating occult activity in Silent Hill, having a fanatical desire to meet 'the Devil', as he refers to the cult's God.
  • Andrew DeSalvo is an older man who once worked monitoring the orphans at the Wish House, which was operated by the Silent Hill cult. He was a ruthless man, beating the children, especially Walter, often and imprisoning them in the water prison.
  • Richard Braintree is another of Henry's neighbors who is very interested in Henry's supposed disappearance. He loathes unruly behavior and desires only peace and order, and he forcibly works to get it, threatening people with his revolver. He's constantly monitoring the other tenants.
  • Joseph Schreiber was an investigative journalist who lived in Room 302 before Henry. Like Henry, strange things happened to Joseph before he disappeared entirely. In death, it became his duty as the Giver of Wisdom to pass along his knowledge of Walter, the room, and the 21 Sacraments to Henry, the Receiver of Wisdom.
  • Walter Sullivan was a boy who was born within Room 302 to unwilling parents, who left him to die inside the room. Frank, however, found him in time and he was rushed to nearby St. Jerome's hospital to be nourished and cared for until being sent to the Wish House Orphanage to be raised. As a child, he often traveled to the South Ashfield Heights apartment building to the person in room 302, which Walter thinks is his mother.
To Dahila Gillespie, Walter was the perfect candidate for "Plan B" to resurrect another god demon in case Alessa's other half was never found or the ceremony failed. Dahlia told Walter about a book and the 21 Sacraments which he believed were to be carried out if he wanted to "wake up" his "mom". Someone new lived in Room 302 and they refused to answer young Walter whenever he would knock at the door.
When Walter was 24, he started his killing spree, killing ten people in ten days. Walter was captured and tried, but committed suicide by stabbing his neck with a spoon during the trial. Three days later, a man fitting Walter's description was seen exiting Room 302 of the South Ashfield Heights apartment building.
Three years later, another body was found, killed in a very similar manner to Walter's previous victims and the police suspected a copycat. Two more bodies surfaced over the next few years, both of whom were active members of the Silent Hill Cult. Every body had a number carved into it such as 12121 or 13121.
What the police failed to realize was that the numbers actually meant 12/21 or 13/21 meaning that Walter intended on slaying 21 victims in all.
Following the cult's teachings, Walter believed that the deaths of these 21 victims would help free his mother, Room 302, and wake her up again so that he could live within her 'womb' once more, safe from the world that terrorized him. In the game, most of Walter's victims appear as ghosts.

Below is a list of Walter Sullivan's victims or intended victims. One Russian fan, under the handle RedPyramid, has written an analysis suggesting that each victim corresponds to one of the major arcana. However, no official materials or comments from the creators have connected Silent Hill 4 to the Tarot at all.

    • 1: The Magician - Jimmy Stone, also known as the "Red Devil", created and became a priest of the Valtiel sect to mediate between the Holy Mother sect and the Saint Ladies sect. Stone was shot in the back of the head, and his body was found in Wish House.
    • 2: The High Priestess - Bobby Randolph was a high school student and a horror fanatic who hung out with Sein and Jasper. He was choked/strangled to death, his body found on the campus of the university which Walter had once attended.
    • 3: The Empress - Sein Martin was friend with Bobby and Jasper. He was found next to Bobby, also strangled/choked to death.
    • 4: The Emperor - Steve Garland was the manager of a pet store. He was shot to death with a machine gun, as were all the animals in his store. His name suggests that he could be related to Lisa Garland from Silent Hill 1, but this has neither been confirmed nor denied.
    • 5: Hierophant - Rick Albert was the manager of a sports store, "Albert's Sports". He was killed with a golf club in the store's warehouse.
    • 6: The Lovers - George Rosten was Jimmy Stone's right-hand man. He was killed with an iron pipe in an underground altar beneath Wish House.
    • 7: The The Chariot and Justice - Billy and Miriam Locane were twin children that Walter brutally murdered while they were playing in the street. Billy was killed with a single blow from an axe, while Miriam was brutally dismembered, probably an artifact of Walter's hatred towards the female form. James found a newspaper article covering their murder in Silent Hill 2, and the strange radio game host in the elevator also tells him the story. Unlike most of Walter's victims, the Locane twins do not appear as ghosts, but rather have fused together into a two-headed monster which is still referred to as 'Victim-7&8'.
    • 9: The Hermit - William Gregory was the owner of a Watch and Clock store. He was stabbed with a screwdriver in the workroom of his store.
    • 10: Wheel of Fortune - Eric Walsh was the last victim of Walter's initial rampage, shot in the face in his apartment on his birthday. He was a bartender at the Bar Ashfield.
    • 11: Strength - Walter Sullivan is considered the 11th victim, having committed suicide in his jail cell by stabbing himself in the neck with a spoon, achieving the 'Power of Heaven' which the 21 Sacrements called for. When the second spree of killings started, Walter's grave was exhumed and discovered to be empty. However, Walter performs this particular killing twice, as Henry later finds a spectral projection of Walter's corpse within a hidden wall of Room 302, with 11/21 carved into his feet, from when Walter's subconscious self returned to the room, chained himself in, and performed the Ritual of the Holy Assumption upon himself. To this end, when Henry first found himself chained inside his room five days ago, he was already within Walter's Otherworld version of the room, with no chance of escaping normally. In the game, the final battle is with the spirit of Walter Sullivan.
    • 12: The Hanged Man - Peter Walls was a teenaged junkie and the first victim of the "copycat" murders. He climbed a ladder to the roof of Hotel Ashfield, shouted down that he could see God, and apparently disappeared. His body was later found in one of the hotel rooms, beaten to death.
    • 13: Death - Sharon Blake was not a member of the cult of Silent Hill, though she knew her family to be brainwashed captives. Repeated attempts over the years to see them had failed. By leading her to the grave of her son, she was manipulated into suicide by drowning.
    • 14: Temperance - Toby Archboldt was a priest of the Holy Mother sect of the cult. Walter's influence apparently reached as far as Mexico, casting Archbolt off the side of a cliff there.
    • 15: Devil - Joseph Schreiber disappeared from his apartment three years before the events of the game and his body was never found. His ghost does not appear in the game as an opponent, but he leaves torn and bloody notes and diary pages for Henry throughout his imprisonment. He also appears once to Henry and Eileen towards the end of the game to give them the full explanation of Walter's plan and the pair's role in it.
    • 16: Tower - Cynthia Velasquez was stabbed to death by Walter while exploring the subway area with Henry.
    • 17: Star - Jasper Gein was immolated by Walter in the basement of Wish House.
    • 18: Moon - Andrew DeSalvo was drowned in the basement of the prison where Walter Sullivan was once held.
    • 19: Sun - Richard Braintree was electrocuted in his apartment in South Ashfield Heights.
    • 20: Judgement - Eileen Galvin, thanks to Henry's timely arrival and Walter's guilt, survives Sullivan's initial attack upon her in Room 303. She accompanies Henry through the remainder of the game after he locates her in Walter's memories of St. Jerome's Hospital, where her body was taken in the real world. In two of the possible four endings, she survives. In the other two, Walter possesses her and forces her to her death by walking her into the blood-immersed killing machine located in the middle of the room.
    • 21: World - Henry Townshend, as the latest resident of Room 302, is Walter's intended 21st and final victim. Henry survives the ordeal in three of the possible four outcomes, but likely dies in the "21 Sacraments" ending.

Each of Walter Sullivan's victims were associated with a ritual theme. While the first ten were simply appointed the theme of "Ten Hearts," after the fact that Walter expertly removed their hearts and used them in the Assumption ritual. The later murders had individual themes. The following is a list of the 21 Sacraments for the Descent of the Holy Mother:

    • 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 - Ten Hearts.
    • 11 - Assumption.
    • 12 - Void.
    • 13 - Darkness.
    • 14 - Gloom.
    • 15 - Despair, also Giver of Wisdom.
    • 16 - Temptation.
    • 17 - Source.
    • 18 - Watchfulness.
    • 19 - Chaos.
    • 20 - Mother (or Mother Reborn).
    • 21 - Wisdom (or Receiver of Wisdom).

Victims 16-19, after having met Henry and murdered by Walter return as ghosts.

The first reference to this character appears in Silent Hill 2, on a newspapper in Blue Creek Apartment building, which said basicaly Walter Sullivan was a serial killer who killed 10 people, and then killed himself with a spoon in jail. There's no reference about the other murders but it said that he did it because a "Red Devil" force him to.

Silent Hill (Movie)

Facts about the film:

  • The Director of the movie is a Silent Hill fan himself.
  • The music of Akira Yamaoka will be used, while Jeff Danna will help adapt it for the movie.
  • Pyramid Head, from Silent Hill 2 and a character from the town's history before the events of said game, will be in the movie.
  • The creature known as Patient Demon, the straight-jacket monster from Silent Hill 2, will be in the movie.
  • From the game locations, the movie includes the School and the Brookheaven Hospital. There will also be an Orphanage location. (Both Normal, and Hellish)
  • The little teaser reveals also the presence of Demon nurses, a recurring creature of Silent Hill.

Synopsis

Rose cannot accept the knowledge that her daughter Sharon is dying of a fatal disease. Over the protests of her husband, she flees with her child, intending to take the girl to a faith healer. On the way, she ends up driving through a portal in reality, which takes her to the eerie and deserted town of Silent Hill. Sharon disappears in Silent Hill, and Rose follows what she thinks is her daughter's silhouette all over town. It's soon clear the town is not like any place she's ever been. It's inhabited by a variety of creatures and a living darkness that descends and literally transforms everything it touches. The human inhabitants - the ones who are left - are trapped and fighting a losing battle against the Darkness. Joined by a cop named Cybil, who has been sent to bring her and Sharon back, Rose searches for her little girl while learning the history of Silent Hill and that Sharon is just a pawn in a larger game. To save her daughter, Rose makes a deal with a demon in the form of a little girl.....

The movie follows the original storyline of 'Silent Hill 1', but mixing it with elements from Silent Hill 2 and 3.

Review

Living a life of hell, little Sharon is terribly sick. Always muttering the town of Silent Hill,West Virginia under her breath, her parents, Christopher and Rose, are worried she might be delusional. How does she know about that terrible, murderous town, just miles away? After Sharon tries to sneak out of the house to go to the town, Rose, not wanting to accept her daughter's illness decides to kill two birds with one stone by going to Silent Hill. This will end her daughter's protesting and bring a light to the end of this dark tunnel. There is rumored to be a faith healer there. Maybe, by some supernatural factors, the mysterious healer will put a stop to the suffering the family is facing. Sneaking out with her sick daughter in her arms, she leaves for the nearly abandoned village. There is a car crash, Sharon is missing, and Rose is left alone in a dark, foggy world haunted by murky shadows and grotesque creatures. Joined by a cop named Cybil, who has been sent by Christopher to bring her and Sharon back, they look desperately for the little girl in the eerie town, and try to find out the haunting history of the just about empty, remote village. They learn that the Silent hill is no longer ran by people, but a Demon brought to life by an ancient occult, and that remaining villagers, all on different planes of existence, are forever trapped in torment that symbolizes their own fears, failings, and past regrets. Will they unravel the truth about this monstrous place? Or will the darkness controlled by an uncontrollable demon eat them alive.

(1): Lisa Garland has been seen in an image provided for the poster contest. It is unknown for certain whether or not Lisa will be in the final movie, but her storyline relevance to Alessa likely requires her presence at least as a cameo.

(2): The last names for Rose, Christopher, and Sharon are currently unknown. While it is possible they could have some connection to a character or characters mentioned within the game series, we do not have any conclusive proof either way yet.
