Release in the US

The wait is over my brothers, Monster Hunter 3 is upon us. Very soon (as in months) Monster Hunter 3 is coming out. So today I thought I'd take a stroll on down to the Gamestop in Durant OK. I thought to myself, "There's no hamr in just checking to see if the game will be coming soon." so I walkede over to the book that contains all the listings for games to become available to buy in the next year. Slowly, I flip the pages, turning toward the Wii games section. And there I saw it, in plain day. The words, "Monster Hunter 3....................3-30-10". I was so excited that I almost crapped myself right there. I'm a veteren of Monster Hunter Freedom and every game they've made up until now. I'm HR9 on Unite. Me and my bros in Oklahoma owned Unkanlos several times at the end of last summer. I've been waiting ever since Monster Hunter Freedom 2 came for this game to come out and now it's nearly, finally here. I'm positive I (or any of you) will be dissapointed in the least with this game. I have taken down a Fatalis (piece o' cake) but as for a White Fatalis......I have yet to accomplish. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.65.125.20 (talk) 04:16, 9 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Game title

According to IGN, the English title of the game is just Monster Hunter 3. The tri~ should be dropped, as that is just for the Japanese logo. 150.101.144.161 13:37, 14 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Actually, in the official Capcom press release, it's spelled tri- (dash) instead of tri~ (tilde). Richiekim 14:34, 14 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Already taken care of, and it's actually "(tri-)" with the brackets as well as the dash. Hero of legend 02:52, 20 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

will it be for the psp —Preceding unsigned comment added by 97.101.153.144 (talk) 20:26, 10 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Does it matter if there are dashes or - just say monster hunter 3 and this pointless discussion.69.249.195.159 (talk) 01:01, 17 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Official titles matter. And it’s a hyphen. —Frungi (talk) 04:34, 7 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Friend Codes?

I've read somewhor (cannot remember source) that the online component of Monster Hunter 3 will not use Friend Codes (Hey, it's possible; Medal of Honor Heroes 2 doesn't use them). Can anyone confirm or deny this? --BPM (talk) 22:15, 18 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

There is no mention of friend codes nessecary for online play for the Wii. Although there may be a monthly fee of Wii points to play.Check this site for more details.[1]

It's been confirmed that online will be free in Western Regions: http://www.hardgame2.com/nwii/noticia-48275.html Also, I have a reliable source that states that there will be no friend codes: http://www.nintendoworldreport.com/impressionsArt.cfm?artid=20044 --LostOverThere (talk) 11:16, 28 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

About release to NA

There is a line in this article: The game is set to be released in both Japan and North America, in early 2009.

Is there a quotation for this? There's no reason to give people in NA false hopes unless there is an official source for this note.Polantaris (talk) 02:30, 2 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Capcom said if North America wants it to shout it and they would release, which is the reason for the petition for monster hunter 3 to be released in NA. So if you want it sign the petition just google it (Moster hunter 3 petition it will come up).69.249.195.159 (talk) 00:59, 17 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

PSP Release?

IGN Says there will be one, notable enough to put on article? link 96.42.42.54 (talk) 01:06, 11 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

No, because the link confirms that Monster Hunter Freedom 3 will be on the PSP; this article is for Monster Hunter 3 (the Freedom sub-series is exclusive to the PSP). Kraid (talk) 01:23, 11 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Wouldn't it be cool if..

-you had to travel through some dungeon/outside areas to get to other towns/dungeons/outside areas? Kiflaam (talk) 20:24, 6 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Not coming to America

A Capcom employee on the Capcom-Unity board confirmed that Monster Hunter 3 (Tri) will not be released in America. Furthermore, the source for the US release date even says that it was not confirmed for America by Capcom in any way. I have no clue why it was even listed. I am removing it.72.198.120.49 (talk) 23:32, 22 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Uh that's funny because according to Capcom-Unity, a North American release is absolutely being planned, but the developer is withholding the news until they establish the IP (Link 1, Link 2). Digitelle (talk) 20:31, 7 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
No, that is not a valid source. That is just a random poster. Although that person has mod status, that does not mean that they work at Capcom. Various other people have that too.72.198.120.49 (talk) 20:41, 1 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Then there you go, Capcom-Unity isn't a proper source. Forums go against Wikipedia's citation policies anyways. Digitelle (talk) 21:27, 1 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Then why did you bring it up? People like Sven and S-Kill do work at Capcom and are moderators. Some that work there are not moderators. Either way, I don't need a source saying that it is not coming to America when the one that said it was coming to America was not valid.72.198.120.49 (talk) 11:00, 2 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I brought it up because you mentioned Capcom-Unity first. It doesn't really matter, it's not as if the article makes any unsourced claims to expect a worldwide release. I just find it odd that both Capcom's Japanese and North American markets would mention the game if it was intended to be exclusive to Japan. We'll see in the coming months if Capcom goes through with localizing it. Digitelle (talk) 19:41, 2 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Press Release of Western localization announcement 165.20.108.30 (talk) 15:40, 3 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the info! I also decided to rewrite the article, because of readability issues. Digitelle (talk) 19:36, 3 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Wii Speak Compatibility?

If this game supports online multiplayer, are they going to allow Wii Speak to be used? Or would you have to somehow type to each other? It doesn't mention anything about it so I'm guessing it doesn't have that function? 77.96.95.251 (talk) 02:15, 4 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Wii Speak will be supported in Western releases of the game. Online will be free and no friend codes will be used. Sources: http://www.nintendoworldreport.com/impressionsArt.cfm?artid=20044 --LostOverThere (talk) 11:16, 28 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
