Sura (Tamil: சுறா, English: Shark) is a forthcoming 2010 Indian Tamil action film written and directed by S. P. Rajkumar, which stars Vijay and Tamannaah Bhatia in lead roles.The film, previously titled as Urimai Kural, will be Vijay's 50th film upon release. Produced by Sangili Murugan and distributed by Sun Pictures,[1] Sura will be released worldwide on 30 April 2010.[2]

Development

The shooting of the film commenced in Kerala in November 2009 and was continued in different places in Tamil Nadu like Marakkanam Villupuram, Mamallapuram, Thoothukudi, Chennai and Puducherry. During one of the shoots, Vijay hosted lunch for fishermen in the coastal area from Chennai to Puducherry.[3]

During the shoot of the movie in Puducherry, differences in opinion between the director and the cameraman erupted which resulted in the replacement of the cameraman M. S. Prabhu. He was replaced by N. K. Ekambaram. From 21 to 23 February 2010, the shooting was held in the Nilgiris District in Tamil Nadu. On the 21st and the 23rd, the shooting was held in Ooty. On the 22nd, the shooting was held in Gudalur.[4]

Plot

The film tells an action packed story set among the fishermen community. Vijay plays a fisherman who is fondly called as Sura(Shark). When the villains try to cheat his community, he becomes a one man army and fights out all injustice. Tamannaah plays a college girl who falls in love with Vijay. [5]

Soundtrack

The soundtrack of the film, composed by Vijay's favorite composer Mani Sharma,[citation needed] was released on 29 March 2010 in a well attended function in Lady Andal school, Chetpet. The album features 6 songs.
