I think he should have a different picture, as neither of his two pictures show him in the context that he is famous for, which is conducting. I don't really know how to add new pictures so if someone could do it that would be great. [[User:Blckmgc|Blckmgc]] ([[User talk:Blckmgc|talk]]) 07:32, 25 January 2010 (UTC)

AGREE- There should be various pictures of him, from conducting the Venezuelan youth orchestra to one with the LA Philarmonic, and not just some random picture of him walking around town.

I think he should have a different picture, as neither of his two pictures show him in the context that he is famous for, which is conducting. I don't really know how to add new pictures so if someone could do it that would be great. Blckmgc (talk) 07:32, 25 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

AGREE- There should be various pictures of him, from conducting the Venezuelan youth orchestra to one with the LA Philarmonic, and not just some random picture of him walking around town.

Not notable, but seems promising. Really don't think he should have a wikipedia article at this time. The competitions he's won and who he's conducted are notable, but he isn't. 138.88.60.141 (talk) 01:12, 14 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Disagree -- since he was named the new conductor of the Los Angeles Philharmonic, he has received more critical acclaim and general press attention than any other conductor in recent memory. --Niels Gade (talk) 14:00, 14 January 2008 Dudamel is the most famous classical director of th twenty one century, heil dudamel¡¡ (UTC)
also disagree - the Gothenburg Symphony is Sweden's "National Orchestra"... /per 79.136.7.239 (talk) 10:47, 4 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
He is also apparently the top news story on Yahoo news. http://us.lrd.yahoo.com/_ylt=Ai1QFUhZZrOQFJm6wU_xYvqs0NUE/SIG=11rj56urc/**http%3A//60minutes.yahoo.com/segment/143/gustavo_dudamel My question is, since his physical appearance is apparently a big deal, being "hot", is that hairstyle correctly referred to as a Sideshow Bob?? Gront (talk) 22:49, 25 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Disagree -- He is to Classical Music what Tiger Woods is to golf, that is, superb at his thing and popular at the same time. He's helping us classical music lovers to reach out to greater audiences. They even call him "The Dude". The best part is that he is not a packaged product created by some LA management agency, because he is today the same person he was as a teenager in his hometown in Venezuela, shaggy hair and all. Gustavo completely deserves an article as he, and El Sistema (the Venezuelan youth musical training system he promotes) is right now the object of study by youth orchestras around the world, including mine, which will surely look up Gustavo Dudamel on wikipedia. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 200.44.212.64 (talk) 15:23, 14 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Leader?

As in Music Director or Concertmaster? /per 79.136.6.183 (talk) 10:13, 4 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hagiographic tone

I have begun to tone down the POV text in the article, which has no place on wikipedia. The purpose of wikipedia is to present "just the facts" and not act as a "fan site" for any given person or group. DJRafe (talk) 23:19, 23 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I'm trying to do the same. At current this reads more like an orchestra press release announcing a new hire than an encyclopedia article.NeverWorker (Drop me a line) 22:38, 12 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Conducting style section removed

I removed the 'Conducting Style' section, which was original research in its present form. I'll look around for some credible sources analyzing his style. Leoniceno (talk) 04:40, 27 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
