Insatiable is the debut album from Irish singer/songwriter Nadine Coyle. The album is set to be released November 8, 2010.

Background

In mid 2009 Nadine Coyle gave an interview with the Late Late Show in her Native Ireland. Coyle announced to presenter Pat Kenny that as a result of her publishing deal with EMI she had written and recorded a lot of new material over the last few years that was very different from the Girls Aloud sound.[citation needed] Coyle told Kenny that at first the solo writing process left her feeling a little exposed saying "I thought I could not say that I can't write that, it was embarrassing but I got used to it". During the recording process Nadine had stated she wanted to show off her writing skills and vocal capability.

It had been reported that Nadine had planned to release her album during the Girls Aloud hiatus of 2009/2010, however Nadine went back into the studio to collaborate with more producers telling fans that she wanted the album to be perfect before releasing it. it is believed the album will be released in November 2010.

It is predicited that Coyle will debute the first single from the album on the X Factor, where fellow bandmate Cheryl Cole is a judge

Coyle recorded with producers Mike Elizondo , Toby Gad, Guy Chambers, Steve Booker, Desmond Child and Tony Kanal. She has written some of her own material and is set to release her first single in September 2010

According to a March 2010 HitQuarters interview with producer-songwriter Steve Booker, Coyle had worked on song ideas using GarageBand which she then presented to Booker in England to work on together further. The producer said, "She was singing her songs to loops, and then I took the loops out and rewrote the music from scratch to her ideas." He described her fledgeling songs as "very pop". Booker also gave Coyle a couple of his songs to sing. Because she’s got such a belting voice, I tried a couple of things where she could really belt. They were mainly a little bit retro but I think by the time we spend some more time working on them I think it'll probably develop into something else and I’m not quite sure what it’s going to be yet", he said.

Coyle has recently reported through her Twitter account a number of additional writers contributing to her solo album including Lucie Silvas, Kyle Cook from American rock band Matchbox Twenty and producer J remy, who has worked on the Jay Sean album All or Nothing, Arnthor Birgisson who most recently worked with Leona Lewis on her album Echo is also another new contributor to Nadine's album. William Orbit has been in talks and confirmed to work on some tracks for the upcoming album. DJ, Alternative and Dance producer Tiesto has been in the studio with Her too. it is believed more producers have worked on the album.

Coyle's manager Bruce Garfield put a statement out in January 2010 stating that her record deal, release date, TV special and live shows will be announced very soon. He also has stated that Nadine has written over 40 songs to be considered for the album. Nadine has signed to Geffen Records and will release in the UK sometime in October/November 2010 before targeting the US market in Early 2011

Nadine told a reporter who interviewed her at an Xbox launch in LA on the 14th of June 2010, that she had stoped the writing process and was working with producers to finish the album. she also disclosed that the song writing process was 'enjoyable and came natural to her'

Nadine Coyle recently posted her photo shoot for the album booklet on Twitter.[1] It is reported that Nadine is wrapping up her album and finishing it off in England, Ireland, Scotland and Sweden.[2]

It was reported by The Sunday Mirror that Coyle signed a deal with Tesco Entertainment where her album will be sold exclusively in Tesco[3] stores. However it is belived that Nadine is still signed to Geffen Records and is working with Tesco in a joint deal to sponsor live shows and a exclusive limited edition album for the store.

The track "Insatiable" is set to be the lead single, with The Sun giving it an extremely favorable review saying that they "loved it, more than they should have," and noting its prominent "80's feel" and tone similar to the work of international girlband The Bangles.

Kim Dawson from the Daily Star said that she had heard five tracks from Nadine's album. Describing lead single "Insatiable" as "ballsy and 80's influenced, while "Redlight" is cited as a "disco dazzler." Dawson went on to describe "Chained" having a "sparkly synth back line" and "Natural" as the big ballad penned with Guy Chambers. She gave the album a very positive early review, saying the album had some "cracking pop songs."

Musicial style and composition

Nadine has talked in past of musical inspiration ranging from, Eva Cassidy, Aretha Franklin, Tina Turner, Kings of Leon, Sade, Duffy, Amy Winehouse, Coldplay Beyonce Corinne Bailey Rae, James Morrison Mariah Carey and Alicia keys. Coyle has stated in interviews her love for Motown, rock, soul, Jazz and dance music.[citation needed]
