The CW officially renewed Gossip Girl for a fourth season on February 16, 2010.[1]

Plot

Season four begins with a Serena and Blair enjoying summer in Paris...until Chuck shows up with a new girlfriend. Blair will either have a change of heart or spend her time trying to rule Columbia University.[2] Serena will choose between Nate and Dan. Dan will cope with being a new father to Georgina's baby and Vanessa will deal with having a boyfriend who has got a child with another woman.

Stephanie Savage has revealed in an interview that the Dan and Serena story is "reactivated" and sorting through it will become a bigger story. She also revealed that the third season finale "Last Tango, Then Paris" had a big impact on Jenny and she'll be a changed person when she returns.[3] Her return later this season will be "full of drama”.[4]

The Gossip Girl website will be under construction and when it returns, it will debut “never before seen technology”.[4]

Cast

Harry Potter actress Clémence Poésy will join the cast in Paris as Chuck's new girlfriend, Eva.[5] It has also been announced that former Melrose Place star Katie Cassidy will join the cast as Juliet, a student at Columbia University and a potential love interest for Nate.[6] It had been also confirmed that Sam Page had been casted as Serena's new love interest, which first appearance will be on October.[7] David Call will also join the guest cast for season four as Ben, who's someone that knows Juliet pretty well.[8] Also, Tim Gunn will make a special cameo in an episode scheduled to air in late October. This episode has also been confirmed to be the one featuring a special appearance of Taylor Momsen as Jenny Humphrey.[9][10] Rachel Zoe will make a special appearance in a upcoming episode which will also feature Blair's 20th birthday party.[11]

William Baldwin will possibly return to the show in the fourth season. He has said he will return in the same capacity of Michelle Trachtenberg to come in cause some trouble then leave again. However, nothing is set in stone.[12][13]
