Thanks for uploading all those pictures! There is quite a lot of them I don't think I can do them all at once maybe about one-by-one?. Or maybe just the important ones, for example: the Crown Prince, Princess Sirindhorn, Princess Chulabhorn, the late Princess Galyani and Somdet Ya? But which ever way I will do them eventually- just very very slowly! if you don't mind that. Sodacan (talk) 04:52, 2 August 2009 (UTC)

Categorization for Chakri Dynasty
Re: this edit, I tend to disagree. You might like to take a look at Wikipedia:Categorization#Subcategorization. I think that since the Chakri Dynasty category is already broken into subcategories concerning the various houses, each member need only be included in the house category and not duplicated in the main category. --Paul_012 (talk) 11:43, 3 September 2009 (UTC)

:I understand, but the point I'm trying to make is that in Wikipedia, when articles can be systematically categorized into subcategories, we don't usually repeat them in the mother category itself. That is, a user browsing the :Category:Chakri Dynasty page will be able to click through each of the family subcategories to reach the individual articles, but, in order to reduce clutter, those articles shouldn't be directly present on the main category page. --Paul_012 (talk) 08:35, 4 September 2009 (UTC)

Prince Bira
Hi, I see you moved the Prince Bira article. It's not terribly helpful, since nearly all the articles in which he is mentioned refer to him as "Prince Bira", as his full name was never used. Please consider moving it back as per WP:Common name or at least fix the many redirects you have now made. See Help:Moving a page. == Images from Bureau of the Royal Household, Kingdom of Thailand ==

I see that you have uploaded several images whose source and author you list as the Bureau of the Royal Household, Kingdom of Thailand, and you claim that they are all now free under the GNU license. What authority do you have to release them under this license? Are you the director of the Bureau or something? Or did the bureau decide to release all of its photos to the public, renouncing its copyrights? If not, please explain why these images should not all be deleted. -- Zsero (talk) 14:32, 2 November 2009 (UTC)
:Repeating the above Monarchians. You just removed a "permission required" tag from an image for which you, seemingly, do not have permission. Is there any reason that these images should not be deleted ? - Peripitus (Talk) 20:33, 9 December 2009 (UTC)

Intavaroros Suriyavongse of Chiang Mai
Sorry to have changed the name of the article from Intavaroros Suriyavongse of Chiang Mai to just Intavaroros Suriyavongse but there is no need for the subject after the name in this case. This is because all Thai names are unique even for royalty and cannot be easily confused unlike George I of: Great Britain, Greece, Georgia, Russia, Bulgaria, and so on and on. In fact it is more of an honour to be known just by the name alone without the full dignities and titles (in English that is, unlike in Thai (where the longer the name the better)). For example Alexander the Great is known world wide, as oppose to "Alexander III of Macedon, Hegemon of the Hellenic League, Shahanshah of Persia, Pharaoh of Egypt and King of Asia". ==File source problem with File:The Prince Narisara Nuvadtivongs.jpg==

Thanks for uploading :File:The Prince Narisara Nuvadtivongs.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Thai Royal Family's Standards

Hello,

Or maybe just the important ones, for example: the Crown Prince, Princess Sirindhorn, Princess Chulabhorn, the late Princess Galyani and Somdet Ya? Wan Waithayakon

Hi,

I saw that you remained the article Wan Waithayakon. I am actually trying to sort out this person's actual given name/title(s). According to you, Vanna Vaidhayakara was his given name ? What were Naradhip Bhongseprabhan, Waiwaidhayakara and Wan Waithayakon. My knowledge of thai noble titles is next to nil, and I'm trying to improve that a little. (my actual goal being to improve the French article on this person). About the name change : the United Nations' website lists his name as Wan Waithayakon, so what is the deal with Vanna Vaidhayakara ? This name gives almost no results on google, while Wan Waithayakon seems pretty established. Are you sure this change of name isn't being confusing ? Thanks Jean-Jacques Georges (talk) 15:49, 12 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your answer. Regardless of the article's title, I think it should specify that he was known in the west as Wan Waithayakon (that name is pretty official, as it is used in a professional capacity, i.e. at the United Nations), and specify the exact origin of this name + why and how it was used. Also, what is exactly Waiwaidhayakara ? A nickname ? Thanks for informing ignorant westerners like me. ;) (no irony, I'm just trying to understand) Jean-Jacques Georges (talk) 16:41, 12 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, thanks for all your info. I'll correct the French article and will just add that he was known in the West as Wan Waithayakon, in order to avoid any confusion (while letting you correct and add all the specifications as how this name was coined and when it was used.) Also, I wonder if the article shouldn't keep being titled Wan Waithayakon, since this is the name he used internationally and was known under ? The Plaek Pibulsonggram article is not titled Pibun Songkhram or Plaek Khittasangkha. Best, Jean-Jacques Georges (talk) 17:20, 12 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I'm just wondering about the title, however. If Wan Waithayakon is the name by which he was known (and indeed a google search shows many results, while another with "Vanna Vaidhayakara"... shows only this article !), the current title is going to be confusing to readers. IMHO, if he was known by that name (it even appears on his autographed photo in the article, so he used it himself), the intro should say something like Wan Waithayakon [explain origin of the name here], born Vanna Vaidhayakara.... and "Wan Waithayakon" would be less misleading as a title. best regards, Jean-Jacques Georges (talk) 20:45, 12 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

HH Prince Sukhumabhinanda

You listed HH Prince Sukhumabhinanda as Knight Cross of the Most Illustrious Order of Chula Chom Klao and the ribbon image is that of a Knight Grand Cordon of the Most Illustrious Order of Chula Chom Klao. I am not sure whether you meant for him to be listed as a Knight Grand Cordon or a Knight Grand Cross of the Most Illustrious Order of Chula Chom Klao. If he was a Knight Grand Cordon, then only the title needs to be adjusted. If a Knight Grand Cross, then both the title and ribbon image need to be adjusted. Can you advise on his correct grade?
