Revision as of 22:50, 16 December 2010

Thank you

Just a note on this talk page too, but thanks very much for those kind words at RFP. Nice to see that anti-vandal work isn't completely taken for granted! Nice talking to you. Paralympiakos (talk) 02:59, 12 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Editing of Bronx Science

I am a student at the school taking the advanced placement course that was just implemented last year and I feel that it is necessary for people to know all of the courses offered at our school, so I would appreciate it if you would re-do what you just deleted "Human Geography" from the Bronx Science Social Studies AP list. Thank You.

Yup. I realized my error afterwards and undid my own edit. My apologies.--GnoworTC 02:08, 13 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Pats vs Bers game

I did, the stats are constructive as they where shown during the game and also show that Brady has moved up the rankings in the passes without INTs and the fact taht Deion branch ahd a career day is pretty big too. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.233.89.24 (talk) 02:13, 13 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I reverted my edit. I saw poor spelling and assumed it was vandalism. Later, I realized you were doing your best. My apologies for the inadvertent revert.--GnoworTC 02:15, 13 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, the only misspells where last names in the football players like Thiesmann and Gannon. I refreshed the page and the stuff I typed is gone, I thought you reverted it? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.233.89.24 (talk) 02:17, 13 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I didn't actually revert the page. User you should talk to is Pats1.--GnoworTC 02:19, 13 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Your work

The Anti-Vandalism Barnstar
Great job patrolling recent changes and reporting vandals! Much appreciated. Netalarmtalk 07:28, 14 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Many thanks for the barnstar. Needed something to do to pass the time so I figured that hopping back on Huggle might be productive. I think this marks my first barnstar. Hopefully I'll have some more dead time to earn some more. Have a great evening!--GnoworTC 07:32, 14 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, were you the one who just told me to make an account? Don't worry I do have one. I was just making some corrections without being logged on. Hey, how did you make your user name green? Mine is just blue, I wish I could make mine a different color. Sprecher (talk) 07:38, 14 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

No worries about not being logged on. Whenever I see a positive edit, I toss out that welcome message to try to recruit new editors. Regarding the signature: You can go to "my preferences" at the top of the page (or at least you can on the old version of wikipedia, not sure where they might've moved it). From there, I checked the box under signature ("treat above as wiki markup") and inserted the following: --<font color="green">Gnowor</font>TC. You might be able to get some help on formatting over at WP:Signature. Hope this helps!--GnoworTC 07:42, 14 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, for some reason it's not working. I tried to put it on that signature line, but it didn't do it. I don't know if you could help me out? Thanks Sprecher (talk) 09:05, 14 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I'm probably not the best person to ask. Haven't really played with my signature in over a year. Perhaps this tutorial would be more helpful?--GnoworTC 18:04, 14 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

With nearly a thousand edits under randomly assigned daily IPs, yours is the first welcome; thank you. I plan to create an account on my 42nd birthday in 39 days for childish reasons attributable to Douglas Adams. Until then... :D 75.204.52.8 (talk) 06:53, 15 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

My pleasure. Been patrolling vandalism for awhile which entails looking at a fair number of positive edits. Takes me one keystroke to fix vandalism, and two keystrokes to send a welcome message. I figure the extra keystroke is the least I can do for someone who contributes positively to Wikipedia. Thanks for the message, and for the great edits!--GnoworTC 06:56, 15 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Vandalism

I see you're quick on reverting vandalism tonight! Good job ;) Zarcadia (talk) 18:16, 15 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

If I've got the spare time (or even if I don't but feel like procrastinating about exams), I do what I can. Thanks for the recognition!--GnoworTC 18:24, 15 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

WHY?

why did u revert my edit 2 skip sheffield it was constructive b/c he will return at TLC just watch and ull know —Preceding unsigned comment added by 97.100.146.210 (talk) 19:11, 15 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Looks speculative to me. As nice as it would be if WP could predict the future, I don't believe that predictive entries on Wikipedia are permitted. Please cite a policy page if you believe I'm incorrect. Thanks!--GnoworTC 19:13, 15 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You were correct with the speedy call in the first place, so no need to wait for a week just to delete obvious advertising. I blocked the account as advertising only as well. --GraemeL (talk) 19:39, 15 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for following up, GraemeL. I appreciate you looking into it. Have a great day!--GnoworTC 19:41, 15 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Tier 1

Someone keeps changing

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tier_1_capital

To the wrong definition.

Tier 1 Ratio is Tier 1 Capital / Risk Adjusted Assets (RWA). If someone deposits $10 and the bank lends out all $10 assuming a RWA of 90% then the bank would now have risk adjusted assets of $9 ($10*0.9) and it would have equity of $2 implying a ratio of $2/$9 or 22%.

This is what I have written which I know is right.

Someone keeps changing it to something else. — Preceding unsigned comment added by AllanEdwards999 (talkcontribs) 02:27, 16 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Where are you getting the $2 of equity? Because I'm only seeing $1 of equity. Perhaps you have a source for your calculations?--GnoworTC 02:33, 16 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The question said there was $2 in equity I just used it. Whoever wrote the problem did something which made no sense.

He took All the Risk Weighted Assets then took out the liabilities.

Imagine I had $5 in Loan Receivable (An Asset) and $3 in liabilities. Lets say the Loans had 90% risk. Then according to this guy he did 5*0.9 =4.5 -3. Which is 1.5 then he divided this by 4.5 which is 33%. But the company has $2 of equity and $4.5 of risk weighted assets so the calculation should be $2/4.5 or 44%. RWA makes the ratio higher since assets are lower but somehow this person made it go down.

I did it correctly. Its Equity or capital divided by RWA. — Preceding unsigned comment added by AllanEdwards999 (talkcontribs) 03:57, 16 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

It seems you have more knowledge on the subject than I. I'll leave the article as is, but perhaps rather than just telling me you're right, you could link to a source that would help individuals like myself better understand the subject. I'd greatly appreciate it if you could cite a source.--GnoworTC 03:59, 16 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Here is Bank of America's 2009 Annual Report go to page 62 or 64 in the PDF file and it shows the calculation of Tier 1 Common capital and total capital. http://media.corporate-ir.net/media_files/irol/71/71595/reports/2009_AR.pdf That number is divided by Risk Adjusted Assets. Which is what I did. — Preceding unsigned comment added by AllanEdwards999 (talkcontribs) 04:12, 16 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I need help

 • The people (or Madonna fans) at the Confessions on a Dance Floor page are trying to erase my reliable sources of the album selling 8.5 million figure, to an unreliable source of 12 million from a blog. Please help me.76.117.166.71 (talk) 02:31, 16 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Your original edit looked good to me. I responded on the talk page and backed you there as well. Thanks for your constructive edit and for fighting through the red tape that sometimes comes up around here. Hope you have a great day!--GnoworTC 02:42, 16 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Welcoming new users

Thanks for all of your welcoming and anti-vandal work. However, just be careful not to welcome a user that has already been welcomed, like you did at User talk:Baseball Watcher. Thanks and keep up the Huggling. Guoguo12--Talk--  02:31, 16 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

My apologies. I usually just toss a Welcome out when I see a good edit w/o checking user page. Mostly, those go out to anonymous users. Didn't pick up the pre-existing welcome on Baseball Watcher's page. Sorry about that. I'll try to be a bit more careful.--GnoworTC 02:37, 16 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, you're doing great overall. Keep up the good work! :) Guoguo12--Talk--  02:42, 16 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion declined: 6 December (film)

Hello Gnowor. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of 6 December (film), a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: A7 does not apply to films. May well not meet WP:NFILMS - consider PROD or AfD. Thank you. JohnCD (talk) 14:53, 16 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

WikiAlerter

I've added you to the approved users list, you should be able to use the program now. However, please make sure you only tag pages for speedy deletion if you are sure they meet the deletion criteria. I( note that the above was a clear case were A7 did not apply, as films are not covered by A7. I suggest you carefully read each criterion before you tag a page under it. WikiAlerter also gives you functions to easily add maintenance templates, nominate for a deletion discussion, and propose for deletion. You should consider using these as alternatives to speedy deletion. Let me know if you have any problems with the program. Best, - Kingpin13 (talk) 18:21, 16 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the heads-up. It was actually through reading some of those criteria pages that I wound up on new page patrol. :). Thanks for the permissions. As the tool's still in beta, I'll let you know if I discover any bugs. Have a great day!--GnoworTC 18:23, 16 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Okay great, just make sure you take them in, and it may be necessary to occasionally review them :). You too, - Kingpin13 (talk) 18:27, 16 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry I could not find the information in English , but will check for this . At the final speech he says he is negotiating a fight for 2011. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 189.73.65.177 (talk) 18:49, 16 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Vandalism (2)

You are doing great work against vandals. JamesBWatson (talk) 20:40, 16 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the recognition. And for the quick block on one of many vandals of my user page. Have a great day!--GnoworTC 20:41, 16 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, I have seen that you have been getting your share of vandalism. One of the consequences of fighting vandalism, I'm afraid. JamesBWatson (talk) 20:44, 16 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I look at it as a positive. If they're going after my page (which no random user will ever look at), then they're not going after the encyclopedia. I take it as a sign that I'm doing good work, although recognition from my peers can be a bit more satisfying. Thanks again for stopping by!--GnoworTC 20:46, 16 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
