Jharal Yow Yeh (born 22 December 1989) is an Australian professional rugby league footballer who currently plays winger and center for the Brisbane Broncos of the National Rugby League (NRL). Is is the great-nephew of former Balmain Tigers player Kevin Yow Yeh.[1]
Life
Yow Yeh was born in 1989 in Emu Park, Queensland. He is a Torres Strait Islander and also has Vanuatuan descent.[2] He is the great-nephew of former Balmain Tigers player Kevin Yow Yeh, who died before he was born.[1] Yow Yeh attended Ferny Grove State High School, where he finished his senior education in 2006. After graduating he played junior football for West Arana Hills and Norths Devils.
Yow Yeh made his first grade playing debut for the Brisbane Broncos at Suncorp Stadium on the 13/03/09 (round one) against the North Queensland Cowboys.[3] He plays both winger and centre, and is known for his speed, strength and agility. He was named 18th man for the Maroons. Yow Yeh was named in the Indigenous All Stars team 2010, but through the game injured his leg and missed 5 rounds of the 2010 season.
