Digimon Xros Wars: Time Traveling Hunter Boys (デジモンクロスウォーズ 時を駆ける少年ハンターたち, Dejimon Kurosu Wōzu - Toki wo Kakeru Shounen Hantā-tachi) is an anime series in Toei Animation's Digimon franchise and is the sequel to Digimon Xros Wars. It is the seventh overall series and is comprised of the eighth season in the franchise. This is the first series since Digimon Adventure 02 to serve as a sequel to the previous series. The show will begin airing in Japan on October 2nd, 2011, following the final episode of Xros Wars.[1][2]

Production

Most of the staff from the first Xros Wars show returns to this series. Riku Sanjo returns as head writer for the series while Yukio Kaizawa, who directed select episodes from the previous year, becomes the head director for this series. Sanjo initially hinted at the possibility of a second year when the Death Generals saga of the first Xros Wars series began, implying that the story might need to be expanded. It has also been mentioned that heroes from all of the previous shows in the franchise will make appearances throughout the series. [3]

In addition, a team of Digimon Hunters composed of Airu, Ren, and Ryouma, are facing off against Yuu, Taiki, and Tagiru, who are collectively called the Hunter Boys. [4]
