Chie Nakamura was married to Tanaka Yasuo, a Japanese business man, from March 1999 to January 2002. She became pregnant in May 2000, but lost the pregnancy after thirty-three weeks. Disappointed, she and her husband thought of trying to conceive again, but the relationship between her and Yasuo became unstable. Being unable to save her marriage, she divorced Tanaka in January 2002, although the separation date was established on November 10, 2001.

She met her next husband, in July 2002 in Hobart, Tasmania at a mutual friend's party. They became friends, and in September 2004 they moved together to Tokyo. Nakamura's family pressured her to become pregnant but she told them that at the moment she was busy with work and new projects, arguing that she would become pregnant when she and were ready to be parents. In the end of July she found she was pregnant, and on April 3, 2006 at 7:33 p.m. she gave birth to a baby girl named . Others sources told that she wanted to have a baby boy and like this project will happen somewhere to October 2008 but there was no news about a possible pregnancy.In June 2010, she announced her family and friends on Facebook that she was two months pregnant. On 20 November, she told her family that she would have a baby boy, even though there was doubt.
