Musou Orochi 2(無双OROCHI 2), is a 2011 hack and slash video game developed by Koei (now Tecmo Koei) and Omega Force for the Sony PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. This is the fourth installment of the Musou Orochi series, being a crossover of the Dynasty Warriors and Samurai Warriors series, and serves as a sequel to Musou Orochi: Maou Sarin (Warriors Orochi 2). This games release has only been officially announced in Japan, being on December 22, 2011, therefore there is no confirmation of it being released overseas.

Characters

It has been confirmed that over 120 characters will be included in this title, this includes the updated models of characters from Dynasty Warriors 7: XL and Samurai Warriors 3: XL. It is unknown however, whether cut characters (Musashi Miyamoto, Kojiro Sasaki, Goemon Ishikawa) will return.

Da Ji and Kiyomori Taira have been confirmed to return again, where there will also be new characters specifically for MO2 and possibly, characters from other Warriors series who may appear in the game.

The following are confirmed new characters: Kaguya, Shuten Doji

Story/Plot

This game begins several years after the events of Warriors Orochi 2, where the struggle of completely destroying Orochi's forces still continues. But, the appearance of the eight headed phantom serpent known as Youja has caused much more chaos than ever before. The reappearance of Kiyomori Taira also adds to this chaos, where many warriors are killed. The serpent appears to be unbeatable, until the moon princess, Kaguya suddenly appears with the power of time travel. Sending the only survivors - Hanbei Takenaka, Ma Chao and Sima Zhao back to the past to undo their mistakes, and save their fallen allies, she can only hope it will be enough to defeat the serpent.

There will be themes of friendship, romance and betrayal included - making the story much more compelling. There will also be the possibility of sending the warriors back to their original times. There is also a bonding system, which can be used to change character attitudes, as well as the story. This bond can be increased by talking to fellow warriors, and holding banquets, using the new 'restaurant' feature. The weapon shop also returns.

Gameplay

The 'three person tag team' system still remains in the game. 2 player split screen co op is also included. However, the following changes have been made:

A new character type called 'Wonder'. 'Speed' and 'Power' return.

New abilities known as 'True Combination Skill' or True Union Arts.

'Combo Switch' which can trigger special attacks when swtiching characters.

'Musou Battlefield' mode allowing the customization and sharing of scenarios online.
