He graduated as an electronics engineer from [[SDM College of Engineering and Technology]], Dharwad, Karnataka and worked for [[Motorola]]. He then turned to directing and his directorial debut was titled ''[[Jaan-E-Mann]]'', for which he also wrote the story, screenplay and dialogues, apart from composing and editing the background music score. The film starred [[Salman Khan]], [[Akshay Kumar]] and [[Preity Zinta]], and was released on 20 October 2006. The film received positive reviews but was a commercial failure. He has worked on ''[[Tees Maar Khan]]'' his wife's 3rd directorial venture, the film was panned by critics but was declared a semi-hit at the box office. Shirish Kunder is an editor and film director in the Hindi Film Industry. He was born in Mangalore on May 24, 1973.[1][2]
