EBC Definition

What is the actual definition of one degree EBC. This European Brewing Convention redirects here, but there is only a conversion from SRM to EBC. I'm assuming EBC is not a derived unit, but a direct measurement.Beakerboy 20:15, 25 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Doing some rough calculations it might be absorbance in a 1cm cell multiplied by 25. These numbers make the conversion about right, but it's not necessarily the right measurment technique.Beakerboy 20:20, 25 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

That is indeed the correct definition. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.169.64.210 (talk) 14:39, 24 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Why no EBC article

Why is there no article for EBC colour measurement when this is the international system? And why is their an article for SRM, which is only used in North America? For that matter why do the beer articles give colours in SRM and not EBC units? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Patto1ro (talkcontribs) 11:33, 27 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I came here to ask the same question. I wanted to know who defined EBC, when they did it, how it's defined, and so on, and all I get is an article on SRM with a conversion rule. Surely EBC deserves its own article? --LarsMarius (talk) 18:08, 23 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
