:::Thank You Stefan2, I read the source link you provided. However, I have a question... The picture in question is that of a school crest so how does the source link you provided apply to it? I don't really see how it is considered a work of art, when it has been treated as anything other than a work of art? I'm not trying to be difficult I just want to understand thoroughly. Any assistance in this matter is greatly appreciated. -- Avazina, (Talk to me) 19:27, 26 March 2012 (UTC) |

- Use of image that predates the upload found at http://bleacherreport.com/articles/60684-wisla-krakow-vs-mks-cracovia-the-holy-war
BleacherReport generally uses Getty Images photos, which are copyrighted. In any case, the uploader's claim of self work is probably not true. Mosmof (talk) 05:44, 21 March 2012 (UTC)
- File:43 Technetium.jpg (delete | talk | history | logs).
- It has been suggested that this is not PD-USGov. See Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Elements/Pictures#Copyright issues. Stefan2 (talk) 13:14, 21 March 2012 (UTC)

- Other images by the uploader have been sourced to http://www.tspmi.vu.lt/ without any evidence of permission. It is possible that this picture has been taken from the same web site, although I can't find it. Stefan2 (talk) 14:06, 21 March 2012 (UTC)

- Taken on the same day and by the same photographer as the following, but using a different camera model. Also taken years before Wikipedia upload. Stefan2 (talk) 16:43, 21 March 2012 (UTC)
- Im not sure how this accusation is possibly valid. Photographers don't own more than one camera? Articles don't get created about events until later? OMG! rule-breaker!. Gaijin42 (talk) 19:23, 21 March 2012 (UTC)

- May not be own work of the uploader. Cloudbound (talk) 21:13, 21 March 2012 (UTC)
- This is a derivative work of File:Wilcannia location map in New South Wales.PNG. That file is in turn a derivative work of File:NSWhighways.png which was deleted as having no source in 2011. Stefan2 (talk) 23:07, 21 March 2012 (UTC)
- The now deleted File:NSWhighways.png was created by User:Fikri who created a lot of the early Australia locator maps that still exist on Commons. Not sure why there is all of a sudden a problem with the NSW ones and not ones like File:Birdsville location map in Queensland.PNG of Queensland and File:Lakes entrance location map in Victoria.PNG. -- Mattinbgn (talk) 23:35, 21 March 2012 (UTC)
- Could someone try to confirm the source for File:NSWhighways.png? Was the F4 deletion correct? What does the file information page say? Fikri seems to have been inactive since 2007 so it might not be possible to get any new information from the user. If the F4 deletion was correct and we can't find any statement from the uploader proving Mattinbgn's claim, we would probably have to delete lots of files on Commons and Wikipedia. --Stefan2 (talk) 01:00, 22 March 2012 (UTC)
