What is this? What do I do here?--20thtryer (talk) 12:43, 28 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

It all depends—what do you want to do here? (Or in other words, are you talking about this talk page in particular, or Wikipedia in general)? Either way, some of the links I added above may help, and again, welcome! DoriTalkContribs 12:59, 28 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I am interested in chapter 7, reverting vandalism. But when is the huge article I go "what is this!!?". Can you please explain what it all means (but in way that is a bit less... complicated?--20thtryer (talk) 13:07, 28 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I am unsure what you mean when you say "I am interested in chapter 7, reverting vandalism" but here is a link that explains reverting vandalism for beginners: Reverting vandalism for beginners.
Also, I would suggest you go through the Wikipedia Video Tutorial: CLICK HERE. Many of your questions will probably be answered by going through the entire Tutorial. Shearonink (talk) 18:54, 28 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I think I will use twinkle, any ideas about its function (I have already started using it, since I have put the "talkback" note n your talk page).--20thtryer talk 15:50, 29 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Well, Twinkle is a tool that needs to be used with care, don't let the tool itself be a substitute for using your own common sense. Make sure you understand Twinkle helps. There are a couple of issues I see in your edits:
  • I think you need to go through the Wikipedia Tutorial CLICK HERE to learn some of the ins and outs of being a Wikipedia editor. I see that you posted a question that had nothing to do with improving the associated article at Talk:Posttraumatic stress disorder.
  • I just now figured out that something is wrong with your signature, you are signing your talk page posts with an unrelated link: [[User:UserBob|<font color="green">20thtryer</font>]] [[User talk:UserBob|<font color="grey">talk</font>]].
    1. You should be signing with four tildes ~~~~.
    2. Go to LIVE HELP before you do any more edits. Shearonink (talk) 16:25, 29 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Signature, fixed. As for PTSD, my mistake. --20thtryer talk 16:28, 29 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
What is wrong with my signature--20thtryer talk 16:31, 29 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Now fixed. Small bug.--20thtryer talk 16:32, 29 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Not a problem, I just didn't want people to be trying to contact you and instead end up at User:Bob instead. Shearonink (talk) 16:33, 29 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
This place is GLITCHED!!!!.--20thtryer talk 16:34, 29 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Giving up. Reverted to my original signature. By the way, try not to use the stop hand as it looks like a final warning.--20thtryer (talk) 16:37, 29 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, 20thtryer, what was wrong with your signature above? It looks fine to me...what were you trying to get it to look like? Maybe I can help. Writ Keeper 17:02, 29 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, I'm going to be completely honest here.

Hey, 20th. I'm going to be honest with you, here, so forgive me if this seems harsh, but it needs to be said. You're taking a very emotional, impassioned stance for someone who has never been the subject of administrative actions. The problem is that the types of questions you're asking, when they come from someone who as far as I can tell has no edits to articles themselves and no formal warnings or blocks, are typical of a user who has been blocked on another account and made a new one to vent. In other words, you've raised the suspicion in several of our hosts' minds (mine included) that this account is a sockpuppet. Among other things, our policy on multiple accounts says that users who are blocked are not allowed to make a new account to continue editing. Creating things like a meta-essay expounding on the admins who are bullies is not going to help allay these suspicions; quite the opposite, in fact. This is why we're advising you to not go through with it.

I'm trying to give you some advice here; this is not in any way a formal warning (if nothing else, I'm not an administrator myself, so I can't directly take action regardless of what happens). If you are a sockpuppet of a blocked editor, please please please stop using this account and request an unblock on your original account. If you are not a sockpuppet, you should drop this crusade against the admins right away and try to do something else on Wikipedia. There are a lot of articles that could use your passion! Try to funnel it into something creative, by improving articles, rather than something (self-)destructive, like raging about admins. Writ Keeper 17:39, 30 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
