If looking for a more authoritative source on what is a very subjective (although, in my opinion, correct) opinion, how about The AllMusic Guide? I have added a reference to the AllMusic Guide/Rovi bio page; the MTV reference simply contains content taken directly from the AMG page.

Inappropriate Tone

I have deleted this passage

"Kid Creole and the Coconuts were a spectacular live act, complete with lavish set designs with a tropical motif, wild costumes and intricate choreography by the Coconuts (provided by Kaegi). On stage they infused an energy, rhythm and playfulness in their music that drove audiences wild. Though Kid Creole never achieved mainstream success in the US, the band was hugely popular in major cities (especially its hometown NYC) and hit pop superstar status in England and Europe, where its eclecticism and sophistication were much more appreciated."

on the ground that it is clearly not encyclopediac in tone or substance

Is Kid Creole dead?

I tried to tell everyone this by adding the following template to the beginning of the article:

{{recent death|Darnell, August|date=January 2009}}

I'd really like to restore this template, so can anyone tell me if Kid Creole's REALLY dead or not? OrnFreeTaa (talk) 23:34, 1 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Calloway?

The article states that Kid Creole's music encompasses a variety of music styles, including one referred to as "Calloway" and then links to Cab Calloway's page. "Calloway" is not a style of music. Deepcloud (talk) 09:45, 29 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

It's a verbatim quote, but I've tried to clarify it by adding the words "..and influences.." Ghmyrtle (talk) 09:49, 29 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
