"Hottest Girl in the World" is a song by English boy band JLS. It was released on 21 October 2012 as the lead, single from their fourth studio album, Evolution. The song is the band's first preview of their new-style material, which focuses on stronger harmonies and stripped back British R&B.

Background

The track received its official radio premiere was on The Chris Moyles Show on BBC Radio 1 on September 6, 2012. Shortly after, the band's official YouTube account uploaded a short audio snippet of the track, followed by an unofficial lyric video.[1] After the song's premiere on BBC Radio 1, fans and critics expressed their views on Twitter. Many of the reviews were mixed, with some branding it a "Justin Timberlake rip-off". JLS performed the song live on The X Factor on 21 October 2012.

Critical reception

Jon Stickler of Stereoboard.com described the song as "a sleek, modern club song and shows a maturity and progression, which takes the group out of pop territory."[2]

They performed Hottest Girl In The World" on The X Factor UK on 21 October 2012. They will also perform on Chatty Man on 26 October 2012

Music video

The music video premiered on YouTube on 10 September 2012, at a total length of three minutes and thrifty-eight seconds.[3] The video features Aston Merrygold, Marvin Humes, Oritse Williams and JB Gill dressed in black and white outfits performing perfectly choreographed routines throughout the video while backed by several beautiful female dancers.
