Cleanup

There is a toolserver based WikiProject Cricket cleanup list that automatically updates weekly to show all articles covered by this project which are marked with cleanup tags. (also available in one big list and in CSV format)

Infoboxes

Add infoboxes to the player articles found at Wikipedia:WikiProject Cricket/requested infoboxes

Cricket people

Create articles about 19th century players who are listed in Wikipedia:WikiProject Cricket/19th century players
Create biographies about Bangladeshi players from the task force redlink list
Check the listing of key bios at Wikipedia:WikiProject Cricket/Key biographies and improve these to at least B-class.
Create batting/bowling graphs for cricketers who have excelled in international cricket.
Create articles for redlinks present here and here

Domestic cricket coverage is needed for Bangladesh, Canada, Kenya, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe;

Societal Impact

I added a new section to discuss the impact of Cricket in West Indies society. Cricket was a sort of symbol of their colonization by the British, and after they gained their independence, the sport was fraught with tension. It also had a great impact of the integration of colored people. This section can definitely be expanded more if anyone wants to elaborate. Julesaj11 (talk) 16:41, 13 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

History Section

I noticed that this page did not address the history of cricket in the West Indies. I started a new section specifically for its history and discussed how the British military brought the sport over to the Caribbean and stated that as cricket's origin in the region. There is of course a lot more to the history of cricket in the West Indies.

Citations in Expansion section

I added some information about further segregation in inter-island competitions on to JHCRosero's initial description in the expansion section today, but the citations are showing up multiple times even though it is citing the same source three times. Not sure how to fix it - could use some help! (whoops, wasn't logged in) --Mollykluba (talk) 03:50, 13 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your edit. I've tidied a few things up. I'm not quite sure how accurate it is. I don't think many black Carribeans took up the sport until after slavery. Also "pitching" is a baseball term not a cricket one, I've changed it to "throwing" but I'm not sure that this is what you meant. We also need mention of South Asians; cricket is not only played by whites and blacks.GordyB (talk) 16:05, 13 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
