Toll Global Express (TGE) is a division of the Toll Group.
Toll Global Express is the largest of the Toll Group’s six divisions. Toll Global Express has five business units: Toll Asia; Toll Priority; Toll IPEC; Toll Fast; and Toll People. Toll Priority employs approximately 3,800 people across Australia and New Zealand.
Services
Toll Global Express in Asia provides next day and time definite deliveries to Asian destinations and has key hubs in Singapore, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Beijing and Sydney. TGE is Asia’s fastest-growing express delivery service in Asia-Pacific. Toll Priority specialises in express domestic and global freight, document management, cash logistics services and information logistics. Toll IPEC offers door-to-door express road freight service within Australia for parcels, cartons or pallets, with a choice of next day or priority delivery. Specialised services include handling and delivery of sensitive freight and the hanging of fashion garments. Toll Fast is Australia’s largest and most diverse local transport provider. Toll Fast specialises in customised metropolitan delivery services from point-to-point bicycle courier services through to project-based multi-vehicle services. Toll Fast has courier networks in all major cities in Australia. Toll People is a human resources service provider specialising in recruitment, labour hire and training services for clients with transport, logistics and supply chain staffing needs.
Capabilities
Fleet
Toll Global Express operates a fleet of air, sea, rail and road vehicles and vessels. Specialised vehicles and vessels are adapted to carry certain freight types and sizes, or to operate in different environments. Toll Asia operates an oil and gas logistics hub and has a fleet of purpose-built barges and tugs.[2] In 2010 and 2011 it was reported that Toll Priority had a charter network of over 50 aircraft including Boeing 737s, ATR-42-300s, Fairchild Metro 23s, Fairchild Metro IIIs, Convair 580s and other small aircraft types that undertake 240 schedules flights per day within Australia as well as 1,600 vehicles on the road that were supported by a national network of branches and depots.[3][4] Clients can charter aircraft with capacities ranging from 300 kg up to 250,000 kg. Toll Fast operates a fleet with 200 vehicles servicing the Adelaide metropolitan area.[5]
Toll IPEC has 1,500 pick up and delivery vehicles which are supported by 52 depots and 150 agents and forwarders across Australia. Toll IPEC has been an industry leader in environmental sustainability through its purchase of compressed natural gas powered trucks. By early 2012 Toll IPEC was reported to have plans to extend their compressed natural gas powered fleet to more than 70 trucks.[6] Toll IPEC is currently trialling an all electric truck. The truck is a 10-tonne Smith Electric vehicle. It has a range of up to 200km, a top speed 95km per hour and a lithium ion 80kW battery. The truck needs 5 to 6 hours overnight charging and has a zero-emission.
Specific Toll Global Express services include parcel and courier delivery services; freight transport services such as local and interstate linehaul movements; distribution services such as pick, pack and delivery; cash and secure services such as secure banking movements and ATM services; data and document services such as document management, data warehousing and print management services; recruitment solutions such as labour hire, recruitment and training services; visa services; and aircraft and airport services including ground and cargo handling, passenger services and aircraft lease.
Reach
Toll Global Express operates in 20 countries. Toll People provides personnel services Australia wide through a network of 17 offices. Toll Priority has over 300 depots and agencies, 550 DX exchanges and 50 mailrooms.
Warehousing and Storage
The Toll Group operates warehousing facilities in major locations around the world, including key trade gateways in Australia, New Zealand, Asia, America, South Africa, Europe, and the Middle East. Toll Asia manages about 10 million square feet of warehouse space throughout the Asia Pacific region.[7] In 2013 Toll announced they were building a $170 million freight sorting facility in Sydney’s west for Toll IPEC. When completed it will be the largest of its kind in Australia. In 2012 a $10 million facility was completed for Toll IPEC at Monaro Industrial Park in Canberra.[8] The facility was purpose-built and is a transport depot of 4,640 square metres. In 2011 Toll IPEC opened a new $46 million facility in Hazelmere, Western Australia.[9] The facility has 2,800 square metres of office space and over 13,500 square metres for warehousing.
