There is currently significant renovation/improvement work being undertaken on platforms 1 & 4 (the Metropolitan Line platforms), including re-conditioning the stairs to platforms 1 & 4 and the installation of Help Points and new platform cameras. Does anybody know what the purpose of these works is? I'm not aware of any announcements by TfL/LUL regarding these improvements, but it looks like the platforms are being prepared for regular use.
