Homeland is an American psychological thriller television series developed by Howard Gordon and Alex Gansa, based on the Israeli series Prisoners of War created by Gideon Raff. The series stars Claire Danes as Carrie Mathison, a CIA operations officer who believes that an American prisoner of war, Nicholas Brody (Damian Lewis) was turned by the enemy, and now poses a significant risk to national security. It premiered in the United States on Showtime on October 2, 2011.[1]
As of December 15, 2013[update], 36 episodes of Homeland have aired, concluding the third season.
