RangiTaranga (English: Colourful wave) is a 2015 Indian Kannada language Mystery thriller film written and directed by Anup Bhandari and produced by H.K. Prakash under the bannerSri Devi entertainers. It features new comers Nirup Bhandari, Avantika Shetty and Radhika Chethan with veteran actor Dialogue king Saikumar in the lead roles. It was shot in Mysore, Bangalore, Madikeri, Puttur, Ira, Ottapalam, Alappuzha and Ooty.

The teaser and trailer which was released in early 2015 raised expectations among Kannada audience because of its exceptional cinematography by Hollywood D.O.P Lance Kaplan and D.O.P William David.

Music of the movie is another highlight. Anup Bhandari is the composer and lyricist.

Plot

Gautam (Nirup Bhandari), a novelist leads a reclusive life in Ooty. Gautam's latest novel is titled RangiTaranga, a word which might hold the key to his past. Indu (Radhika Chetan), a soft natured girl, paints the cover pages of all Gautam's novels. Sandhya (Avantika Shetty), a self-proclaimed journalist, is in search of an anonymous writer who goes by the pen name "ANASHKU".

Unforeseen circumstances lead Gautam to Indu's ancestral home in the village of Kamarottu. Upon his arrival in Kamarottu, he befriends the post master, Kalinga (Saikumar), and the elderly school head master, Shankara (Ananth Velu). Gautam experiences a lot of strange occurrences and his investigation into these incidents irks the powerful men in the village. Meanwhile, Sandhya's trail leads her to Kamarottu. And then, the unexpected happens!!!

The soundtrack features 6 songs composed by Anup Bhandari. Lyrics of the songs have been appreciated and well received as all the songs are in pure Kannada with no usage of English or Hindi words, which is the current trend in Kannada Film Industry.[1]
