I'm back!

The following users are not under any circumstances to leave any messages on this page for any reason including any warnings or notifications - they will be burned on sight;

  • GaryColemanFan
  • OldSkool01
  • CR90 (AKA TrueCRaysball)

(If I add you here and you are an admin I am not aware of this and you need to let me know. I will never burn an admin's notice on sight with the knowledge that they are in that position)

Help request

I want to add the promotion owners to List of professional wrestling organisations in Australia but it's impossible to directly link the best independent source - the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) website. They have a list of registered businesses in a database, including wrestling promotions - but because it's a search engine as such and has a time limit (I think) no direct linking is possible. So how do I cite such a source? Thanks. Curse of Fenric (talk) 11:43, 16 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I have no idea what page exactly you want to link to, but this or this works well enough. I'm not sure though, that what we'll end up with will be anything more than a business directory. Huon (talk) 17:23, 16 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
No they don't, because they don't go to the actual entry with the owner's name. They just go to the list - the "business directory" (as you put it) - which is hardly what is needed. Curse of Fenric (talk) 20:42, 16 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
OK, then please describe how I can reach the page you're trying to link to so I can take a look. Huon (talk) 21:06, 16 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I'll use one as an example - Snakepit Pro Wrestling. Use the second link you gave, select "Business Names Holder - Organisation" and in the name box type "Snakepit". There will be 11 responses and the one with wrestling in it is near the bottom of the list. Click on the link and that's the page I want to cite (it has the owner's name right there). I can't do all of them as not all the entries show the owner (and one shows a fake name so I can't use it) but it's a start. Curse of Fenric (talk) 21:30, 16 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I see the issue. This for a while linked to the Snakepit Adelaide Pro Wrestling entry for me, and now it merely links to the search page. Apparently they maintain "session" information for a while, and when that information expires, so do the links. Maybe this will prove more stable? It also includes this link back to ASIC, so creating permanent links to ASIC is possible, though getting them from the ABN lookup seems rather complicated. Huon (talk) 22:29, 16 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
That seems to be a permanent link, so maybe that could work. ABN's though can be fickle, so I wouldn't call it a final solution - but it's a start at least. I'll work on the others and see how we go in that direction. These are links that probably need to be watched. Curse of Fenric (talk) 02:38, 17 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Justa Punk

The same IP making the same edits=WP:DUCK. GaryColemanFan (talk) 14:02, 24 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Talk to me about not being hasty after you've been harassed by blatant sockpuppets for years. GaryColemanFan (talk) 05:19, 25 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Stay off my talk page. GaryColemanFan (talk) 13:35, 25 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Third opinion

Only two users are involved. GaryColemanFan and me - and just now he has attempted to bully me on the Buddy Murphy talk page. The first issue is not about the talk pages. It's about the identity of an IP. He is adamant that it's banned user Justa Punk. I can't say that it's definitely not, but there is nowhere near enough proof to justify his assertion that the IP can't edit. That doesn't fit anywhere that I know of (including the DRN) hence the 3O request. Curse of Fenric (talk) 05:02, 26 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Redan Football Club, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Phil Walsh (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Regarding this, a month or two ago, there was a LONG discussion on WT:PW, which established that WWE's PPV model had been exceeded by it's WWE Network model, and as such most WWE PPV templates, it was decided, needed to contain PPV-level WWE Network events, of which King of the Ring (2015) was one. The discussion is here if you would like to read it yourself. As per this discussion, I have undone your revert of me. If you have any question, please leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. TrueCRaysball | #RaysUp 00:39, 7 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@TrueCRaysball: King of the Ring was NOT a part of it. It was not a separate event. Part 1 was on Raw which was network TV and that kills it as a point. If the whole tournament had been on one show that would be different. Curse of Fenric (talk) 00:48, 7 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Additional - the King of the Ring presentation was part of a live event which also included that week's Main Event show and the taping for Smackdown that week. It was not a stand alone live show at the venue, which also counts against it. Curse of Fenric (talk) 01:07, 7 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
If you feel that strongly against consensus, I suggest you bring it before WT:PW, but until that point, you must honor current consensus. As such, I'm reverting again. If you revert me again without a consensus in your favor, I will report you. TrueCRaysball | #RaysUp 01:24, 7 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I will change the consensus, and easily because the facts are on my side. Curse of Fenric (talk) 01:29, 7 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry then, I really didn't know, I'd assumed it was important to quote reliable sources and be impartial when speaking about people whom one happens to know. I was in good faith, as you can see, and just wanted to give my contribution speeaking about a subject I know and with all kind of reliable sources <User did not sign>
