Kenston High School is located in Bainbridge Township, Ohio, and serves both Auburn and most of Bainbridge Township, with a small segment of the latter covered by the Chagrin Falls district. In the fall of 2006 Kenston H.S. moved into a new a building due to a growing population base and a larger student body. Academics include a wide array of typical American high school courses and it fields numerous men's and women's sports teams.
History
Kenston High School developed out the now defunct Bainbridge High School in the mid-twentieth century. At its inception it was a vocational school, similar to the nearby Auburn Career Center of today, but eventually evolved into a four year academic high school.
Website
Development of the site first began during the 1998–1999 school year. By the end of the year it had about 300 pages.
In 1999–2000 two students dedicated themselves to further developing the site. They created the framework of the site that allowed it to grow to 2,700 pages with over 10,000 photos. At this time the website began to receive national attention and was named "Cool School of the Year" as the top K-12 academic website in the country.[2] The 2000–2001 school year brought additional growth and the addition of a class solely dedicated to web design. In August 2007, the website was fully redone with a new look and interface.
Athletics
Kenston's nickname is "The Bombers". The school logo most commonly used is of a B-52, although, the B-25 is the bomber shown on the school's website. Kenston moved from the Chagrin Valley Conference to the Western Reserve Conference.
