Half Moon Run are a Canadian indie rock band based in Montreal. The band members, who previously lived in Comox, British Columbia and in Ottawa, Ontario; are singer Devon Portielje on vocals, guitar and percussion; Conner Molander on vocals, guitar and keyboard; Dylan Phillips on vocals, drums and keyboard; and Isaac Symonds on vocals, percussions, mandolin, keyboard and guitar. The group is known for their heavy use of percussion, and playing multiple instruments during live performances.

Career

2012–13: Dark Eyes

Their debut album, Dark Eyes, was released in 2012, and was co-produced with Daniel Lagacé and Nygel Asselin.[1][2] They have toured Europe, Australia and North America.[3] Critical acclaim has included praise for their three-part harmonies.[4] They have played South by Southwest, Osheaga, Canadian Music Week and Glastonbury Festival 2013, and have opened for such artists as Of Monsters and Men, Metric, Patrick Watson,[5] City and Colour and Mumford & Sons.

In August 2013, Ubisoft launched a new Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag trailer featuring their song "Full Circle".

In July 2014, they announced that work on their second album had begun. [6] They have announced that it will be released in Fall of 2015. [7]

2015: Sun Leads Me On and EU and UK Tour

On 24 July 2015 the band revealed a UK and European tour, which sees them playing shows in London, Paris, Dublin, Bristol, Manchester, Leeds, Glasgow, Nottingham, Brussels, Cologne, Amsterdam and Berlin.[8]

On 7 August 2015 the band announced, via their Twitter page, the release of their second studio album, Sun Leads Me On, on 23 October 2015. They simultaneously released a teaser track, "Trust", which was available as a free download with pre-orders of their album. Pre-orders via their website, offers the album signed by all band members. The album will feature the following tracks: Warmest Regards, I Can't Figure Out What's Going On, Consider Yourself, Hands in the Garden, Turn Your Love, Narrow Margins, Sun Leads Me On, It Works Itself Out, Everybody Wants, Throes, Devil May Care, The Debt and Trust. A Deluxe version is also set to be released, with details of its listing to be revealed closer to release.
