Jacob York (born July 11, 1973), is an American entrepreneur and entertainment executive.[8][3] He is the founder and president of the media company Electric Republic and the promotional marketing company Jacob York Presents.[9][4][8] York is best known for his career in the music industry as the former president of Undeas Records, Untertainment Records and CEO of Big Cat Records.[5][1][10]

From 1994-1997, York served as president of Undeas Records, a Brooklyn-based record label co-founded by York’s childhood friends Lance “Un” Rivera and the late Biggie Smalls.[5] Under his leadership at the label, York worked with breakout Hip Hop acts including, but not limited to, Junior MAFIA and female Rap artist, Lil Kim.[5] York was the Associate Executive Producer on Lil Kim’s debut album, Hard Core. Hard Core is considered a double platinum record by the RIAA and it debuted at number eleven on the U.S. Billboard 200, which was the highest debut for an album by a female rapper at that time. York also executive produced Junior M.A.F.I.A.’s debut album, Conspiracy, which debuted at number 8 on the US Billboard 200 and sold over 69,000 copies in its first week. In 1997, after the death of Biggie Smalls, York and Rivera founded Untertainment Records under a joint-venture deal with Sony’s Epic Records. York served as president of Untertainment Records[10] and helped launch the careers of American rapper/actor Cam’ron and Grammy-nominated rapper-songwriter Charli Baltimore.[1] Sony terminated the deal with Untertainment Records in 1999 after Cam’ron’s second album Sports, Drugs and Entertainment (S.D.E.) was the subject of a lawsuit with the National Basketball Association for misappropriation of its logo.[6][1] York also served as CEO of Big Cat Records in Atlanta, GA. At Big Cat Records, York worked with major rap artists such as Gucci Mane, Buju Banton and Gangsta Boo.[7]

In 2008, York launched Electric Republic, a media company that manages talent and produces digital content for millennials.[11] [4]. York executive produced the film Brotherly Love, which was released in theaters nationwide on April 25, 2015 and stars Keke Palmer, Cory Hardrict and Romeo Miller. As of July 2015, York, under Electric Republic, represents actress/model Karrueche Tran[3] and Wilhelmina model and social media personality Chantel Jeffries. In 2014, York and Electric Republic founded the Greek social media networking app, Prophytes. Prophytes launched out of beta in the Summer of 2015 for both iOS and Android platforms.[12]
