Since this is a Bonnie Tyler song, albeit hugely popularised by Tina Turner, there needs to be at least more than two lines on the original song. [[User:Drmotley|Drmotley]] ([[User talk:Drmotley|talk]]) 00:19, 19 May 2012 (UTC)

Bogan icon?

Jimmy Barnes was described by an independant source as a "bogan rock" icon and I propose that it would be good to add this to his name to recognise the cultural impact he has had on bogan culture worldwide. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 122.49.133.185 (talk) 08:12, 18 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Tina turner-the best s.jpg

Image:Tina turner-the best s.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Rangers FC

"The Best" is played at Ibrox Stadium, Scotland when the players of Rangers Football Club and the visiting team run on to the park.[citation needed] On April 19 2010 Rangers FC fans began a campaign to get "The Best" to number one in the UK Pop Charts.[citation needed] It subsequently charted at number nine.[citation needed] Controversially, some Rangers FC fans append alternate sectarian lyrics referring to the Pope and the IRA to the song.[1] In a March 2007 UEFA Cup defeat at CA Osasuna, footage of Rangers fans singing the additional lyrics[2] led to the club being fined and censured by UEFA for the second year in succession.[1][3] For this reason the club dropped "The Best" as the running out music, although it was later reinstated with warnings about the inserted words.[1]

I do not see how the second part of the above can be removed from the article, given that:

  1. It is the only part which is notable
  2. It is the only part which is referenced (with, I think, high quality sources)

The motivations of Rangers-supporting editors are clear enough - but could some of the other individuals who have reverted perhaps explain their reasoning here? 90.200.240.178 (talk) 21:25, 8 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I have shrunk your inclusion that the song is a ‘slogan’ of these organisations. Only the first ref relates the slogan with the song. I have also shrunk your other inclusion in line with verifiable refs.Monkeymanman (talk) 16:00, 9 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, I'm going to go ahead and remove the first part as its claim to notability is not supported by any sources. 90.200.240.178 (talk) 17:40, 9 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
It is now. Monkeymanman (talk) 18:30, 9 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
