An IT manager, van Haeften resigned from the Chairmanship after falling out with Wikipedia's co-founder [[Jimmy Wales]] after an "unnecessarily hostile" discussion between them about the inclusion of explicit material on Wikipedia.<ref>[http://www.telegraph.co.uk/technology/wikipedia/9439046/Chairman-of-Wikipedia-charity-banned-after-pornography-row.html Wikipedia charity chairman resigns after pornography row]</ref><ref>http://www.dailydot.com/news/wikipedia-chairman-ban-ashley-van-haeftan-porn/</ref> The Wikimedia UK board, however, solidly backed van Haeften in his dispute with Wikipedia, which dispute resulted in van Haeften being banned from Wikipedia, and said |

In particular, his knowledge of charity governance, and his ability to bring about consensus at Wikimedia UK’s board meetings, have been particularly valuable.''” |

However, van Haeften was then quickly targeted for his election as Chair of the Wikimedia Chapter's Association. Wikimedia Australia's President John Vandenberg focused on Haeften concealing past undislcosed editing accounts which, as per Vandenberg, ''will result in unnecessary and undesirable controversy for the WCA, [which] may even bring the WCA into disrepute''.<ref>[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Wikipedia_Signpost/2012-07-16/Special_report Chapters Association mired in controversy over new chair]</ref> |

Please make new article for Ashely van Heaften
I have added story of Ashley van Heaften. Please make a BLP article on this notable parson for the reason he is 20 times more notable than Florence Devoaud. Mohsinpathania (talk) 17:06, 5 May 2016 (UTC)
- You could try doing this at WP:AFC. Although, you should note that an article about a purportedly less-notable person existing, is not generally accepted as a good reason for keeping an article -- new or otherwise -- at WP:AFD. This is discussed at WP:OTHERSTUFF. MPS1992 (talk) 17:34, 5 May 2016 (UTC)
- The article already exists, but is redirected here and is administrator lock. The salient point which is express at AFD of Devouad is if 'pedia had different standards for reliable sourcing of Wikimedia insiders versus outsiders BLPs. Mohsinpathania (talk) 18:07, 5 May 2016 (UTC)

Ashley van Haeften
Ashley van Haeften (b. 1964) was Chairman of Wikimedia UK, the charity that promotes Wikipedia in Great Britain. An IT manager, van Haeften resigned from the Chairmanship after falling out with Wikipedia's co-founder Jimmy Wales after an "unnecessarily hostile" discussion between them about the inclusion of explicit material on Wikipedia.[1][2] The Wikimedia UK board, however, solidly backed van Haeften in his dispute with Wikipedia, which dispute resulted in van Haeften being banned from Wikipedia, and said
- “The board is united in the view that this decision does not affect his role as a trustee of the charity .. his work at Wikimedia UK has always been enthusiastic and diligent. In particular, his knowledge of charity governance, and his ability to bring about consensus at Wikimedia UK’s board meetings, have been particularly valuable.”
However, van Haeften was then quickly targeted for his election as Chair of the Wikimedia Chapter's Association. Wikimedia Australia's President John Vandenberg focused on Haeften concealing past undislcosed editing accounts which, as per Vandenberg, will result in unnecessary and undesirable controversy for the WCA, [which] may even bring the WCA into disrepute.[3]
Larry Sanger, the co-founder of the Wikipedia database, who has regularly highlighted the presence of pornography on the Wikimedia USA's sites, noted that Van Haeften received an upvote of support from the charity's board on July 26 2013, which unanimously voted to allow him to continue on as its head.[4]
Van Haeften was well known for his work in looking after the Galleries, Libraries, Archives and Museums (GLAM) program at Wikimedia UK before being appointed to the Chair[5], and his resignation was described by "Real Business UK" as one of the 10 most controversial resignations of 2012-13 - not including the Pope's[6]. Ashley van Haeften was Director of Wikimedia UK between 16 April 2011 and 13v July 2013 [7] Previously he had been first elected to the board in April 2011 and first served as Chair from April 2012 to August 2012.[8] and was appointed after former Chairman Roger Bamkin, was found too involved to govern the charity [9].
In Jan 2016, the highly notable and popular internet personality Ashley Van Haeften, commenced a non-binding "vote of no confidence", whereby Wikipedia's cohort of international volunteer editors asked to remove Ammon Geshuri, of Google, from Wikimedia Foundation USA's Board of Trustees. The vote was ultimately 290-22 in favor of Geshuri's removal and generated wide international media attention.[10][11][12][13][14][15][16][17]
Even otherwise the indefatgible Haeften is notable for uploading over 1 million high quality images for public reuse and is the most active individual image uploader in the world with importance in world of medicine.[18] attracting gratitude[19].
IT and privacy expert, van Haeften represented Wikimedia UK, in his capacity as trustee, before the UK Parliament's Joint committee on privacy and injunctions to establish how best to strike the balance between privacy and freedom of expression and to make recommendations on the future of media regulation in this context, including the role of the Press Complaints Commission and the Office of Communications (OFCOM).[20][21][22][23][24]
